These sweet kids from St. Michael Early Childhood Center are in the true Christmas spirit 🎄🤩 The ECC collection resulted in the building of 10 Complete Essential Baskets, 40 packs of Baby Wipes, 20 packs of Diaper/Pull-Ups and a lot of individual essential basket items that will go toward building additional baskets! Our Essentials Basket Ministry plays a vital role in the services we provide to the working poor. Last month, a single mom of three children was working full time, but experiencing some medical issues. Her first priority was to pay the rent, but that didn't leave enough in the budget for basic household necessities. A Doorway to Hope was able to deliver two essentials baskets to this mom and get her through this difficult financial time. Thank you to all of you who have donated to this important program!

A mother with several children contacted us almost a year ago. She found herself in a domestic violence situation, but being a stay-at-home mom, she had no income to leave the situation. She recently contacted us again and explained that she had secured a full-time job which allowed her to move herself and her children out of this situation. To help her begin this new life with her children, A Doorway to Hope paid her security deposit and her first month's rent. We are so grateful to our donors for allowing us to help this mother out of this difficult situation.

A Doorway to Hope crisis team received a phone call about a mother, Serena, and her 6 children dealing with unimaginable living conditions, in a rat-infested apartment building. Serena had received a Section 8 housing voucher and found a safe place to live. However, in this economy, most landlords require 2 months rent for the security deposit, which the voucher did not cover. Thanks to donors like you, ADTH was able to step in and pay that security deposit, so Serena and her family could move into a decent apartment.

A very HUGE thank you to all of the Carolina Hurricanes players who came to our Our Night of Raising Hope Under the Stars Gala. Last week, a family who had never needed to ask for help in the past, ended up in a tough situation. Elizabeth and John have two children and are additionally fostering two other children. Even though they are both currently employed, because of the extended foster home situation, the cost of the new transmission, and Elizabeth temporarily being out of work, they fell behind on their utility bills and rent.

Thanks to our generous donors, A Doorway to Hope received this referral and was able to step in to help. ADTH paid their utility bills, as well as a partial month's rent to get Elizabeth and John back on their feet.
