How many people actually ask for a raise at work? After talking to friends, most of them females, no one I know has actually asked for a raise.
Last year, I asked for a pay increase of 7% (I was already well paid for my position) and got the increase! I have learned along the way that I have to actually ask for what I want especially because I am a 5ft tall little Asian woman who is soft spoken most of the time. This year I didn’t see my usual yearly merit increase, so I asked my manager about it. Guess what? Got another increase (although slight), and I will also receive retroactive pay for the increase. If you think you deserve more, ask for it.

Applying a very small amount of tretinoin cream just once a week has really improved my skin. Wearing hats and applying sunscreen daily are a must.
I can always tell if someone is a heavy smoker just by looking at the skin. Smoking really increases deep wrinkles. Want to have smoother skin? Don’t smoke.
Tips of the day for acid reflux symptoms according to John’s Hopkins:
- lose weight if you are overweight
- avoid acidic foods including caffeine
- avoid fatty foods, alcohol, and peppermint
- avoid large meals
- no smoking
- stay upright for a few hours after eating
- elevate head of the bed
If your doctor prescribes a class of medications call proton pump inhibitors (PPI) like Nexium, Prilosec, or Prevacid, remember to take it first thing in the morning at least 30 minutes before eating. The efficacy of these medications decreases dramatically when taken with food.
