This weekend is “Midsummers” for the college youths, and while we don’t quite understand what that fully means, our resident recent-UVA-grad-in-her-early-20s has insisted we invite what they call a “rock and roll” band for the occasion.

comes highly recommended to us by our close friends at The Whiskey Jar, and according to the Coogs’ Spotify bio, deliver thick instrumentation and raw tones rooted in 2000s alt-rock, blues, pop, and vintage rock. *turns baseball hat backward* RIGHTEOUS!

So come on out for what looks like the one break from the hell-on-earth temperatures!!

New beer today!

The Fool In Me is a 6.3% ABV hoppy brown ale that drapes the bright citrus of Citra and the juicy fruit of Strata hops over a lightly roasty, toasty malt backbone. Notes of salty pretzel, coffee, and dark chocolate get along swimmingly with the hops’ juicy berries and zippy lemon-grapefruit. Not as aggressively roasty as a black IPA, but in that neighborhood, it’s the perfect warm-weather cousin to our lighter-colored hoppy brews.
