Juneteenth seemed as good a time as any to connect and collaborate! Yesterday, and I came together to brew “Neon Lite” a super crushable, American Light Lager. As always we were lucky enough to use local malt and yellow corn from . Stay tuned in the next few days for our next event date announcement! (Hint it’s in August!). You can rest assured it’s gonna be a NEON SUMMER just like last year.

This dude standing next to me is Brad Burton, who along with his wife and twin bro own . Brad is a Navy vet who had Cadillac dreams of owning his own brewery. He worked his way up from cellerman to Head Brewer at Bravery in Cali. Now, he’s running one of the best breweries in VA (with the awards to back it up!).

I was lucky enough to meet Brad before Decipher opened and ever since he’s been helping me hone my craft. He’s a mentor, friend, hockey aficionado, and just all around awesome dude!! I wouldn’t have made it this far without him. We once again maxed out the mash tun for another imperial stout for Vol 2! I’ve got big plans for this one that may or may not involve hazelnuts…stay tuned!

Shout out to my good friends Decipher Brewing for winning Best of Show at the VA Craft Beer Cup last night. Their Kolsch was rated the best beer out of over 100 breweries! They also won a gold medal for the Kolsch and a Silver for their Wheatwine, Artemis. It's surreal to see their hard work pay off with big success like this because they've been so instrumental in ensuring mine!
