I know its been SO quiet around here lately as I head into my busy fall season! I have just 2 fall spots left on my calendar so be sure to reach out if you wanted to grab one (they are in early November)

I am limiting how many I take again this year to 12 outdoor sessions including my VIP clients. Last year they were all booked up within one week so if you were thinking of booking don't wait! My cut off for sessions (due to the weather getting cold AND holiday turn around is two weeks before Thanksgiving) I am VERY strict on this.

I am 100% team bonnet. It clearly makes newborn cheeks squishable...

It's that time of year again. The inquires have started rolling in about fall family sessions. I open my calendar in a little over two weeks to start booking, if you want to be notified when the dates are released leave a comment below and Ill send you instructions!

This is one of my FAVORITE spots for fall family photos!

When I think back to both my pregnancies (1999 & 2010) there really weren't photographers doing what I do now.

I never felt beautiful with either of my pregnancies. I felt swollen, uncomfortable and awkward. I have very limited photos of me pregnant with either of my kids.

If I could go back and have photos like this, I wouldn't think twice.

And just like that, the debut of the new tub... tell me this photo doesn't make you smile OR want your very own "smash & splash"?

Her entire gallery is full of smiling, happy photos but something about this sweet baby looking at the ocean gives me all the feels

Fingers Crossed- the rest of the beach sessions will be sent off before the weekend is over...

Who knew editing so many beach goers out of the background would be so time consuming lol.

......and in the fall- full family sessions with some of my older clients- you know the newborns that are now turning 11, 12 or 13 (I can't believe I have been doing this that long)

Let's Chat Prints! (and this is zero judgement- just a hot topic in the studio the last month, I 100% understand a quick gift or fast turnaround need etc) this topic is about the prints you are choosing for your walls....

Choosing the right print lab is crucial when printing your photos. While places like CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, and Costco offer cheap options, they often use low-quality inks, papers, and processes, leading to murky, dark, and grey photos. Shutterfly and Mint are only slightly better but still mass-produce prints at low prices.

Unfortunately, there's no way to improve the quality of prints from these places. That's why I always recommend using my trusted labs. I've carefully selected them for their high-quality paper, ink, and canvases that bring out the best in your photos.

Yes, quality prints can be more expensive, but they're worth the investment. If you've spent money on your digital images, it's only right to showcase them in the best possible way. Whether you choose to print with me or another high-quality lab, avoid the mass-production conveyor belts of mediocre prints.

How do you schedule a newborn session when you don't know the date they will arrive?

A: A quick google search told me only 4% of babies arrive on their due date. Can you imagine if I schedule based on the due date? For me it's pretty simple. I book each client for the month of their due date. I only take 8 newborns a month so I'm not overbooked and overscheduled.

Once your baby makes their debut THEN we pick the date and time of the session... otherwise my calendar would be FULL of cancelations and reschedules.

Happy Fri-yay! Due to holiday- travel and waiting on some newborns to make their debut I haven’t been in the studio for over a week. I can’t wait to meet some babies next week!!

In the midst of this heatwave….curious minds want to know (really just my mine)

What do you have your thermostat set to during the day and what do you set it at when you are sleeping?

I will say the studio temperature is always 70-75 🙂 gotta have comfortable sleeping newborns.

A sweet, swaddled session that takes about 30 minutes and is pure perfection.

I have been getting a lot of inquires for fall due dates so I thought I would do a quick PSA.

October & November are historically my busiest months of the year. If you think for any reason that you want a maternity/newborn/baby/cake smash session NOW is the time to start thinking and booking it.

Once I open my calendar for family sessions (in September) it fills up fast. Every year I have to turn people away because I cant fit anymore in.
