August is National Wellness Month! 🌟
At Camp Holiday Trails, promoting physical and mental wellness is at the heart of what we do. From daily outdoor activities to Working on Wellness Activities, we believe in nurturing the whole person—body and mind. Here’s how we foster wellness at Camp and some tips to bring a little Camp Magic into your everyday life:
🏃♂️ Stay Active: Whether it's hiking through Camp, swimming in the pool, or playing field sports, we keep our bodies moving. At home, try to get outside for a walk, bike ride, or even a stretch in the fresh air!
📖 Mindful Moments: We think about the highlights of the day and add things we’re proud of to the Book of Firsts at Camp. At home, take a moment each day to reflect on what made you smile or something you’re proud of—it’s a great way to boost your mood and practice gratitude.
🍎 Healthy Eating: Our campers enjoy nutritious, balanced meals, and we help them learn carb counting. Incorporate more fruits, veggies, and whole foods into your diet to feel your best.
🎨 Creative Expression: Messy Art at Camp isn’t just about having fun—it’s a way to express emotions and reduce stress. Set aside some time to create, whether it’s painting, journaling, or even just doodling.
🌞 Connect with Nature: We believe in the healing power of nature, and spending time outside can boost your mood and energy levels. Make time to connect with nature, whether it’s in a park, your backyard, or simply by opening a window and letting the fresh air in.
Wellness is a journey, and we’re proud to walk it together with our Camp Holiday Trails family. Take these tips and bring a little Camp Magic to your home life this August! Learn more about what we do for children and teens with medical needs at campholidaytrails.org.
🌿 Happy National Relaxation Day! 🌿
At Camp Holiday Trails, we know how important it is to find moments of relaxation, especially in the middle of a jam-packed summer. As our summer sessions have come to a close, and some of our staff are taking well-deserved breaks, we’re reflecting on the many ways our camp family finds peace and joy.
Relaxation isn't just about resting—it's about doing things that make you feel calm and good. Whether it’s reading a good book, creating art, walking your pup, petting a horse, or patiently waiting for a fish to bite, there are endless ways to bring a little more relaxation into your life.
Take some time this week to relax and enjoy yourself. You deserve it! 💙

At Camp, we’re more than just a community; we’re a big family. Our Camp family is made up of incredible people who return year after year, each contributing in their unique ways. This , we’re excited to reshare photos from Ian, one of our Cabin Directors from this summer. Ian shared these photos as the summer came to a close, with the simple yet heartfelt caption: “because I am happy here.”

She loves Camp Holiday Trails because it's a place where kids can just be kids, surrounded by compassionate, fun, and wonderfully goofy people. As a pediatrician, she spends her days caring for children in clinic settings, but there's something truly magical about seeing them here at camp—where they can be themselves, have fun, and create memories that last a lifetime.

A Big Thank You to Heavy Duty Bunk Beds!
We extend a big Camp thank you to Heavy Duty Bunk Beds for their generous donation of $7,000 towards BIPOC campers' tuition this summer. Because of their support, seven amazing Camp Holiday Trails campers each received a $1,000 scholarship, helping to reduce the financial barriers that can prevent families from experiencing the magic of camp.
These scholarships mean so much more than just financial aid—they open the door for children to join a community where they can feel empowered, make lasting friendships, and grow in confidence and independence. We owe it all to the kindness and commitment of our friends at Heavy Duty Bunk Beds.
Thank you for believing in our mission and helping us create a more inclusive camp experience for all!
