The East Tennessee Chapter of AABE® was formed in 2014 in Chattanooga, TN.
The East Tennessee Chapter of AABE® was formed in 2014 in Chattanooga, TN under the leadership of employees at theTennessee Valley Authority (TVA), Electric Power Board (EPB) and AGL Resources. The chapter is one of eleven chapters in the Southeast Region, with 30 members comprised of five companies including TVA, EPB, AGL Resources, Diversified Supply and Sulzer Pumps.
Last full day of sessions and our own Marie Webb held it down as our closer on the Human Resources panel. She was the MVP of our chapter this year!! Following the day’s sessions, we participated in team building exercises . Some enjoyed the gala and others went to a basketball game. Both groups were enjoyed themselves. We can say that we had a fantastic experience at the 47th AABE CONFERENCE. Our chapter is known and recognized for our commitment to serving the community and being active in AABE Activities. We are not saying we are the best chapter in AABE, but we are striving to be the best AABE chapter We can be.
Full day number two is in the books! The day was packed full of exciting information and discussion that unveiled opportunities in the energy industry and how we can all make it better for the people we all serve. From leadership of AABE, NiSource, TVA and others, a wealth of knowledge was provided! The AABE organization continues to display how diversity in this industry is very critical for the success of the grid. The team took time to dine at Roscoe’s chicken and waffle We were also able to decompress and enjoy the evening in “the Happiest Place on Earth”, Disneyland
The first full day of activities are complete. We are all still soaking up the knowledge that has been presented. We heard from various speakers on many topics relative to the energy sector. Our very own Jeanette Mills was on the women’s panel which was a very powerful discussion. After we got done gaining information, we took time to enjoy fellowshipping with one another.
The East TN Chapter of AABE is in the house and ready to learn new developments in the energy industry. We look forward to collaborating with the other chapters to learn from them as well. Let the conference begin!
The AABE East Tennessee Professional Development team recently had a wonderful lunch and learn event with distinguished panelists that left us feeling inspired and motivated. Not only did we have the opportunity to learn more about these accomplished individuals, but their stories and advice also encouraged us to embody characteristics such as fearlessness, discomfort, creativity, and authenticity. With their valuable insights and experiences, they showed us that success comes from pushing ourselves out of our comfort zones and staying true to who we are, while caring about others. The panelists reminded us that being authentic and taking risks are key factors in achieving our goals and making a difference in our professional lives. Overall, the lunch and learn was an enriching experience that left us feeling empowered to continue growing and developing as professionals.
