Chicago Hope Academy
Chicago Hope is a college and life preparatory Christian High School dedicated to nurturing and challenging the body, mind, and spirit to the glory of God.
CHA provides a high-quality, affordable, Christian educational experience to motivated families.
Hope introduced flag football under coaches Scout Muzikowski Gonzalez and Ricky Gonzalez last year. The team made a huge impact with a 6-2 record for the program’s first season. This season, flag football is officially an IHSA sport and the team is excited to try and make a run downstate. They’ve been working hard this summer, including participating in the Chicago Bears Nike Tournament (pictured here).
Rising junior Amoria Allen is most looking forward to the team’s dynamic this year. "We have a lot of freshmen who are very sweet and still competitive, which is a good thing. I’m excited to play and see how much we have improved since last year. Over the past year, I learned to move forward with the ball even if there’s a lot of opposing players. I also learned to be patient with everyone, teammates and coaches. We are a team and a family at the end of the day and we should love and encourage each other.”
We can’t wait to see Amoria and the team compete! Go eagles!
Chicago Hope Academy Head Coach Chris Mallette made history as he led the 2024 IL High School Football All Stars to a 21-13 victory at the 50th Annual Illinois High School Shrine Game. Hope quarterback Eddie Jenkins, Jr. also made history earning game MVP. Eddie joined his teammates in a great week of service ministering to children at Shriners Children's. It was an amazing way for our coach and quarterback to end their four years together! LETS GO HOPE!

“With 300 students, 10,000 competitors at our athletics campus — we will find additional scholarships to support our kids! You can strengthen Hope by supporting scholarships OR come get involved. Hope has the best school culture on the West Side of Chicago, so come visit!
Like Jesus told the disciples in the storm, “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.” God’s got us, and we’ll keep the fight going for families to not be restricted to the opportunities in their zip code. They deserve more than that. Hope has become a school that the city of Chicago cannot afford to lose! And while six schools will close and a dozen more will follow — the Hope train will roll on.
It’s a GREAT day to be an Eagle!”

Hope visited Calvin University and University of Notre Dame last weekend! Students got a feel for the two schools by sitting in classes, hearing from notable speakers (including the President of Calvin), and having fun exploring the campuses.
We’re thankful for another great year at Chicago Hope Academy!
Some of the Christmas festivities around school the past few weeks - an amazing concert put on by the Spiritual Life team, the Archaeology class building Israelite Iron Age graham cracker houses, and decorating done by the Creatives Club!
We are thrilled to congratulate Valerie Saldana on earning a full, four-year QuestBridge scholarship to Vanderbilt University!
“The moment that I opened my email to see that I was accepted into Vanderbilt University, a heavy weight was lifted from my chest. My mind could not believe that such good news was my reality. I called my older sister to tell her the news and she started to cry with me,” Valerie said. “Going to Vanderbilt will get me closer to my goal of becoming an attorney by majoring in Law, History, and Society. I want to be an attorney to make a difference in the justice system, which has often proven to fail minorities who do not have proper representation in many cases. I want to become a representative for the voiceless and honor my mother’s legacy.”
Valerie entered Hope eager to achieve her dreams. As an eighth grader interviewing for admission, she already had her sights set on attending an elite college. She's worked hard all throughout her time here, juggling academics with volunteering as a peer tutor, participating in the FBI Explorers Program, and playing soccer and volleyball. Valerie is fantastic at empowering others as she pursues her own goals. Congrats Valerie!
Congratulations to Mr. Stephen Schreiber on receiving an Outstanding Educator Award from The University of Chicago! The University states that, "An Outstanding Educator shapes young minds in meaningful ways - thoughtfully approaching instruction, sharing an infectious love for learning, and caring for students both inside and outside the classroom.”
Each year, new students at UChicago have the opportunity to reflect on past educators and nominate someone who has made a significant impact. Ike was a also recipient of this award in 2020. Mr. Schreiber was honored to receive the recognition and shared a favorite quote from C.S. Lewis: "The task of the modern educator is not to cut down jungles, but to irrigate deserts."
We are grateful for the wisdom, wit, care, and irrigation that Mr. Schreiber brings to the Hope community and wholeheartedly celebrate him as an Outstanding Educator!
We celebrated Thanksgiving with our Hope family yesterday at our annual potluck. We’re thankful for this community!
Thanks to the Chicago Tribune for this piece on our football program ahead of tomorrow's semifinal game. We're proud of our team as they build character on and off the field.
"On Saturday, Hope Academy will play in the Class 1A semifinals, one step from the state title game. More importantly, coaches say, the players are learning to become responsible men and brothers.
“One mistake at a company can get you fired,” head coach Chris Mallette said. “One mistake, even though you didn’t mean to harm your family, can tear your family apart. Either you sacrifice the team for yourself, or you sacrifice yourself for the team. That will carry over prayerfully for these guys to their marriages, their families, their communities, and some of them to the armed services.” "
High school football: Hope Academy's mission bigger than sports On Saturday, Hope Academy will play in the Class 1A semifinals, one step from the state title game. More importantly, coaches say, the players are learning to become responsible men and brothers.
