Bright and early on the Monday after 8th Grade Graduation, the staffs from St Philip and Bethesda joined together for a day of Professional Development led by prominent Christian Child Psychologist Dr. Michael Frey. Teachers took a deep dive into learning about Childhood Anxiety, and the ways that teachers and staff can help kids and families -- all from a Christian perspective.
Dr. Frey's presentation was the third in a series which will continue to span over the next several years.

Yesterday, St. Philip students had the most incredible day exploring the Garfield Park Conservatory! From breathtaking succulent gardens to stunning tropical plants, we were surrounded by so much natural beauty. Plus, we even learned a thing or two about the importance of conserving our environment. Overall, it was an unforgettable day, and the students can't wait to go back! Who else has visited this gem in Chicago?

Last night, we celebrated our amazing student athletes at the annual sports banquet. From volleyball bumps to three point shots, St. Philip offers a fantastic range of sports for students to get involved in, including basketball, volleyball, bowling, cross country, and track and field. It was a wonderful night to recognize their dedication, sportsmanship, and hard work – and of course, enjoy some delicious food together!

At St. Philip, we believe learning through play is the best way for our little ones to blossom! This past week, we incorporated a fun twist into our play-based curriculum with a flower-themed scavenger hunt.
The children explored the halls searching for flowers with numbers, then colored the corresponding flower on their sheets. It was a delightful way to sneak in some early math skills, all while having a blast!
