We’ve talked a lot about the importance of vitamin D in maintaining optimum health, recognizing that there is nothing better than getting it the natural way, by exposing our bodies to the sun’s rays.
Now that we can do exactly that, I’m going to tell you to use sunscreen!
If you do have the opportunity to expose your arms, chest, and legs too early morning (before 11 AM) or late afternoon (after 4 PM) sun without the sunscreen for only 10 minutes, your body will be able to convert enough inactive vitamin D2 to its active form, D3 to last you a couple of days.
Stay tuned for more!
Let’s get outside this summer! Finally, after what seems like endless months of indoor isolation, we feel free to take it all in. But let’s keep in mind some basic health safety principles that will help us truly enjoy the great outdoors without paying some potentially costly health consequences.
1. Protect your skin.
2. Watch the weather forecast.
3. Enjoy a healthy cookout!
Wishing all the father’s of our loved ones a very Happy Father’s Day!

Circling back on your gut health...
Let’s talk about GALT (gut-associated lymphoid tissue). The functional importance of GALT in body's defense relies on its large population of plasma cells, which are antibody producers, whose number exceeds the number of plasma cells in spleen, lymph nodes, and bone marrow combined.
A healthy gut contains healthy bacteria and immune cells that ward off infectious agents like bacteria, viruses and fungi. A healthy gut also communicates with the brain through nerves and hormones, which helps maintain general health and well-being.
Really not a vitamin but more of a hormone, vitamin D ☀️plays a crucial role in our response to inflammation and should be supplemented especially in our part of the country on a regular basis, and in higher doses in the fall and winter months.
