Students who are underrepresented in medicine (URiM) must overcome several hurdles when pursuing medical careers, and one of the largest hurdles is cost, which doesn't end at matriculation into medical school. When seeking out the residency location, they may have several interviews and are expected to travel for these interviews, sometimes at the last minute. The CAHMCP Residency Interviewing Resource Initiative allows us to alleviate this burden for URiM students across the state of Illinois, by filling in some of the gaps along this path. Visit our website to learn more about these initiatives.

Are you gearing up to be a first-generation college student? Or maybe you're the first in your family to pursue a career in the STEMM fields? If yes, then your parents probably want to support you, but may not know what you need or how to bridge the gap. CPASS Foundation is here to help! Our STEMM PATH Navigator Academy (SPNA) for Parents program equips parents/guardians with essential tools, resources, and strategies to foster STEMM readiness from kindergarten to college. Our curriculum consists of nine sessions, each tailored to a specific scholar age group. Parents/guardians can choose their participation level, from attending a single session to joining all nine. Each session runs for approximately 1.5-2 hours, making it easy to fit into schedules.
We understand that raising STEMM-focused scholars comes with its challenges and questions. SPNA is here to provide the answers and guidance they need. Whether they have a child in elementary, middle, high school, or college, our sessions are designed to empower them with the knowledge and strategies to support their educational journey.
What to Expect?
- Interactive Sessions: Engage with our expert facilitator, participate in discussions, and learn practical strategies.
- Flexibility: Customize your participation based on your scholar's age group and your preferences.
- Recordings: Can't make a live session? Don't worry, all sessions will be recorded.
