Belgian brand recently expanded into the North American market with a new showroom at THE MART!

The 10th-floor showroom, designed in collaboration with , showcases their stunning furniture, designed for work and leisure.

How cool is this antique etching of THE MART as seen from the Chicago River? The Franklin-Orleans Street Bridge can also be seen in the background. Artist Chester Danforth created this etching back in the 1930s, around the same time THE MART opened, becoming the-then largest building in the world.

Today we're throwing it wayyyy back to the 1930s!

While Chicago looked pretty different back then, can you still spot some similarities in this picture that are still here today? Let us know in the comments!

Croatian commercial furniture manufacturer recently opened a permanent showroom (its first-ever U.S. location) on the 3rd floor (381) here at THE MART, where the design-forward brand showcases its innovative furniture solutions.

Yinka Ilori & Cory Arcangel are our featured artists this Summer (live now, every night until September 11th) and were recently featured in !

"Ilori’s new work will take us on a journey through his memories of Pentecostal church rituals, while Arcangel’s commission will pay homage to a legendary band from Chicago through an abstract video installation. It’s incredible to see how two very different commissions can create a unique and valuable experience for our audiences."

The 55th edition of NeoCon is really shaping up! The show kicked off with the Best of NeoCon Awards ceremony, which honored many of the innovative launches of this year. Attendees have been walking the show floors to experience the latest in commercial design, attend exclusive programming (including an opening keynote from Bob Weis of Gensler), and network at buzzworthy social events like ’s 30th Anniversary toast at the Grand Stair.

Today is the day! ART on THE MART's 2024 summer season launches tonight at 9PM and runs nightly through September 11.

🎞🎨 Post-internet phenom Cory Arcangel's commission straddles the line between film and abstract painting. For this piece, he custom-coded software to compress footage of the titular natural elements (water, wind, and fire) until the images are almost beyond recognition. With video he captured in Chicago and his home in Norway, Arcangel investigates how electronic data and human memory can both degrade and transform over time. (first image)

🌊🏙 Genre-defying artist and designer Yinka Ilori’s project marks his first major foray into an institution dedicated to the visual and performing arts. The U.K.-raised and -based Ilori translates his sharp eye for color and explorations of his Nigerian cultural heritage into a dreamlike video work, Omi Okun (Yoruba for ‘ocean water’), made just for Chicago. Recalling fragments of Ilori’s experience on a spiritual voyage, his piece softens the boundaries between art and design and invites us to see the artist in a whole new light. (second image)
