Warrior Institute of Chicago's Traditional Martial Arts Studio
Here, at the Warrior Institute of Chicago, Inc., we teach a scientific systematic study of the fighting arts. Our well organized system of military/warlike skills from ancient and modern times integrates and explores all aspects of fighting. Our program helps to instill self confidence and self discipline while fostering the psychological and spiritual values associated with the martial character.
Thank you to the Chicago Jack & Jill club for allowing us to be apart of your activity. We appreciate the support of our Institute. It was an honor working with our youth.

The seventh day of Kwanzaa celebrates the principle upon which all others rest. On this first day of January, we celebrate Imani (ee-MAH-nee) which means faith. Imani (ee-MAH-nee) challenges people to believe in each other with all our hearts, and honor the righteousness and victory of their struggle. It is the profound and enduring belief in, and commitment to, family, community, people and culture.
Looking forward to continuing our mission of creating tomorrow's leaders, one student at a time. Happy New Year!
On the sixth day of Kwanzaa, celebrated on Sunday, December 31, observers honor the sixth principle which is Kuumba (creativity).
Kuumba is the commitment to being creative within the context of the national community vocation of restoring our people to their traditional greatness and thus leaving our community more beneficial and beautiful than we inherited it. The principle has both a social and spiritual dimension and is deeply rooted in social and sacred teachings of African societies.
On the fifth day of Kwanzaa we light the candle representing the principle Nia, or purpose. It encourages us to look within to not only set personal goals, but also to choose goals that benefit our community.
Ujama (oo-JAH-mah) teaches us to support one another and to build businesses that benefit the whole community and helps it thrive. Opportunities
Let your food be your medicine
Ujima, the Third Principle of Kwanzaa, means 'Collective Work and Responsibility'
The second day of Kwanzaa honors self-determination (kujichagulia): 'To define ourselves, name ourselves, create for ourselves and speak for ourselves.'
Umoja (Unity)
To strive for and maintain unity in the family, community, nation, and race.
Another Warrior taken from us too soon. Rest in Power Grand Master Fon Taine. May the creator be pleased with your life's work and may the ancestors greet you with open arms. Thoughts and prayers go out to all his loved ones!
