We envision a world where persistent global challenges are more clearly understood and quickly alleviated by a more profound understanding of the mind.
The biggest problem of our time is not the ones we are constantly talking about like war, terrorism, refugees, guns, education or criminal justice. It’s the one invisible problem that underlies every single global issue of our time: a misunderstanding of the human mind. The erroneous belief that our feelings of well-being and security are caused by external forces is at the root of all our current

"Pure potential with a backpack full of trauma" - The words of Prince Jimmar, the Director of Rebels for Peace will cut straight to your soul. Please set aside 5 minutes to hear the story of how to Become a Rebel for Peace, and support this important work.
We do not accept the status quo - in fact we are REBELLING against it. But not in away that creates more division - in a way that UNITES!
Thank you for everyone that came to our «Becoming a Rebel for Peace event» this week.
Hearing from panels of youth facilitors, principals and SEL specialist - all dedicated to the mental and Social Emotional Health of our communities left us hopeful and inspired.
Recording will come soon, for those unable to make it!
One of the most impactful insights we can have is the fact that our minds are working FOR us, and is searching for peace and equilibrium.
You can observe this everytime a feeling, mood or experience have faded away on it’s own.
You know that 11PM whirlwind of anger or worry that turns into the 8AM «what was I even fussing about?» You didn’t do that. It just happened.
Even in the cases where it sticks longer, it always will and must shift.
This knowledge helps us take our experience with a grain of salt, help us get OK with what we are experienceing, and wait abit before we act.
The key is to not try to change our experience, but to observe that it does so by itself.
This awareness allieviates pressure for those of us who is constantly working on themselves or trying to fix our experience.
The classic and timeless example of a snow globe beautifully shows this, and is a metaphor we use equally both with 6 graders and with executives.

Together We Lead - Together We Transform (Chicago and Virtual) Join the Rebels for Peace for an interactive experience that will uncover new ideas and actions for a safer, more united Chicago.
Our core focus is to unleash the power of intergenerational leadership, and as a community find ways dismantle some of the divisive ideas, structures and systems that keep us separated.
The best people to lead this is the youth that are right in the middle of our current generations.
Youth-leaders between 16-25 have the unique ability to speak to younger and older generations, and the drive, energy to make things happen.
The antidote to conflict, polarity and violence, from micro to macro, is a new way of listening.
🙏🏽When we stop getting distracted by our mental chatter, we open up real connections and depth to our relationships.
💭When we stop bringing OUR thoughts and opinions to the table, the person or group in front of us gains their own insights, ideas, and solutions.
🔥When we believe less of our own thoughts and stories we automatically create space for increased ideas, innovation, and productivity.
Simply put, we ALL have internal noise that stops us from being present with what is in front of us. Whether that be our children, our spouse, our co-workers, or the problems of the world.
Because of our mind's addiction to stories, we can't hear/see/feel what is true.
The trick is to be able to see our mental activity for what it is: Unhelpful, biased, limited, and then to gradually let those things.

We've been building a community interested in the mind and how it shapes our human experience for nearly seven years now, and we're noticing a shift in why people get involved and engage with what we are up to.
People are boiling...
sometimes about their external world,
sometimes about their internal world,
and more and more frequently,
about doing something to make a difference.
We're excited about this shift. Through offerings like Rebels for Peace and the Accelerating Change for Social Impact course, we're supporting those ready to use that boiling feeling for good.
What are you boiling about, and what will you do about it?
There are all kinds of courses on social impact, climate change, sustainable development goals, and change leadership, so what's different about Accelerating Change for Social Impact?
We're not interested in short-term 'how to' solutions.
We're looking to teach changemakers like you to uncover a regenerating well of innovative and new solutions... so you can get about creating the impact you are after.
In this intro video, Andrew Moss shares the direction we'll point you toward in this life-changing course.

How can we use deep listening and curiosity to affect change in the systems behind issues of social and environmental impact?
These are the types of questions we answer in the upcoming One Solution Global Accelerating Change for Social Impact course.
Here's a short clip from Andrew Moss on using the natural curiosity that comes with deep listening, as presented in the course.
"From my experience, the answers you get from following this line of questioning tend to surprise both the person asking the questions and the one answering them. That opens up the opportunity for a dialogue on how you might find a better way by working together." -- Andrew Moss

Do you ever wonder why change (especially the positive kind) takes longer than we think it will?
Has that ever frustrated you or left you questioning your actions?
What if there's a natural pace to change?
And what if our role is to bring our best to that natural pace?
Our message with Accelerating Change isn't about forcing change to happen faster than nature. It's about making sure our thinking and the thinking of those we influence aren't getting in the way.
If you'd like to learn more about this, or any other content we've shared, you'll want to check out our upcoming course, Accelerating Change for Social Impact, which starts with a live session on January 10th.

One of the comments we regularly hear from our community and those attracted to our message is that we offer something more practical than a meta-level message about the mind and change.
We have those we serve to thank for that.
Through our work on diverse issues at different scales, we've uncovered language that resonates and connects the core message about the mind and our human experience with the real lives and challenges faced by those we serve.
This video featuring Tony Wilkins is always popular among our Accelerating Change for Social Impact course participants because it bridges the gap between how our perception of the world can be an obstacle to change with an easy and practical solution to find new perspectives.

I often receive questions on the boldness of our organization name, One Solution, and the title of my book, 'One Thought Changes Everything'.
There's a curiosity about what to some seems like an over-simplified perspective on how to solve all issues, at any scale, anywhere in the world.
In this video, I've shared that the "One" we speak to is not a tactic, strategy, nor a magic blueprint hidden in a vault here in Chicago.
The One we speak of is a direction.. a direction that, if each of us were to inhabit it, would reveal every solution to every issue at every scale, everywhere in the world.
We are one.
We are connected.
With love.
Mara

It's that time of year when we're reflecting on what's already happened and what we'd like the future to look like.
Often, the changes we want to see involve other people!
When we're trying to evolve the relationships we have or the results we are getting with other people, we've seen that the best place to start is by letting go of the desired outcomes and instead focusing only on how we are showing up.
In this video, One Solution Global chair Carla Kupe shares her perspective on letting go as a path to creating change.
We hope it helps.

Why do we do the work we do?
How do we know it will help create faster change on any issues at any scale?
Why do we offer a course called Accelerating Change for Social Impact?
The answer to all of these questions is the same ...
We do what we do and offer an opportunity for as many other people as possible to learn with us because we have seen firsthand that the only sustainable shortcut to accelerating change is to create an environment where solutions are more readily and consistently available from within.
All our training and coaching offers are focused on creating this environment and then, from there, creating the change you want to see in the world.

Whenever we try to make a change, there's a chance that, at some point, we'll get stuck.
When you're stuck, it's easy to see only two options -- persevere and keep pounding away at the perceived wall you've run into...
Or give up.
In this video, Eirik Grunde Olsen shares a 'pyramid of change' model that offers two more approaches to finding a path forward.

Carla Kupe, our amazing Board Chair, talks beautifully about the power of listening, and how we can become better at it! Listening is what happens when we are not at the center, and our mouth and mind are quiet.. This is key not only to increasing understanding but to solving our individual and societal problems. You'll see Carla in our Accelerating Change Course, where she talks about how to facilitate organizational and systemic change.
A powerful clip from our recently held Accelerating Change Global Summit featuring Simon Hampel, founder of SARSEN.
In this conversation, Simon shared his professional journey of having it all, losing it all, and then coming back with powerful insights gained from getting to know himself.
Simon's words leave us feeling that "of course" leaders with the vulnerability and humbleness that comes from exploring themselves will be better positioned to lead others.

Special thanks to the talented Rob Cook for facilitating the session this clip comes from and to education leaders Hakeem Subair and Danelle Almaraz, who were guests alongside Simon. You'll hear from them and other guests from the Global Summit in the coming weeks!

A big challenge for many of us when trying to create change is dealing with those who see the world differently than we do.
How do we "convince" them to change or see things our way?
In this clip from the Accelerating Change online course, Mara Gleason Olsen shares how a shift of mind can unlock a creative capacity with magical powers already within you...

Wisdom is everywhere. but are we listening to it and encouraging it? We are so inspired by Lorna's work, experience and ideas, and grateful to have her be part of Accelerating Change for Social Impact. She rethinks and ACTS on new ideas that challenge old and outdated frameworks - something we all can do more of.
Eirik from the One Solution team shares his insight on why he avoided doing what was needed to create change -- does this resonate with you?
This simple idea of seeing how to be okay with any feeling that might occur allows us to put more of our ideas into the world and take more actions that will create positive change.
Every percentage of extra feeling we can remain okay with is a percentage of freedom we gain.
If you want to accelerate your ability to create change in the face of procrastination, fear, doubt, and other people's opinions, join us on the upcoming Accelerating Change for Social Impact starting in January.
