Ahoy Pirate Families,
Here we are, the end of another amazing school year! I have enjoyed being your PTA President and this year was anything short of outstanding. As families, friends, and most importantly as a community, we have accomplished so much this school year. You all have contributed to this accomplishment and have a lot to be proud of.
Giving and Membership - This year has given us the highest number of memberships known to date. Coming in hot at 103 active members, we brought in a little over $2000 in memberships, not counting additional donations. This is very impressive and exceeds historical records resulting in Local, State, and National PTA recognition. Way to go!
Programs and Fundraising- We had quite a busy year filled with many events. None of them would have been possible without your support.
- Back to School Breakfast for Teachers & Staff
- Cheer team welcome back to school tunnel
- Popsicle Sales
- Purchase our own color printer (to use for future color printing)
- Spirit Weeks
- Back to School Night
- Outdoor & Indoor Movie Nights (We purchased a projector and blow up screen to use for years to come instead of renting)
- Fall Carnival
- 3 Book Fairs
- New spirit wear (and design)
- Food Drive
- Thanksgiving treats for Teachers & Staff
- Starlight Parade School Recognition (supported our cheer team)
- Cheer team 6th grade camp sendoff
- Shoe Drive
- Holiday Morning Hot Chocolate (we purchased 2 inflatables to use in the future)
- Provided decorations and support for the Holiday Performance
- 101st day of school - Dalmatian theme
- Bing-glo night
- Supported the 1st Annual Autism Acceptance Walk (which included a shout out from Mayor John McCann)
- Teacher Appreciation Week events
- Baby Goats
- Provided snacks and treats during testing week/month
- Provided snacks and support for Special Olympics
- Provided prizes for the Treasure Box
Wow - what a list of events! These fun activities could never be possible without the support of our amazing PTA Board and Volunteers. I wanted to give a special shout-out to some members that have really stood out below. Please know that any and all support was instrumental in our success. Whether it was being a member, making a donation, purchasing snacks during events, telling us to "keep the change", participating in Spirit Weeks, giving us good vibes & moral support, or just giving our posts on Facebook and Dojo a "heart or like" , ALL kept us motivativated to continue to give back.
- Paul Becotte (Chairperson for Food and Shoe Drive)
- Jessica Lopez (Chairperson for the Book Fair)
- Amy Huynh (Teacher Representative)
- Jessica Lee and Sydney Masser (Chairperson and Co-Chair for the Fall Carnival)
- PTA Board (Andrea Rubio, Gerlyn Usi, Jenni Pimentel, and Shameka Clark)
Thank you so much for this experience and allowing me to represent Rogers and help bridge our fabulous Parent & Teacher community this year. It definitely proved our potential to create memorable experiences for our students. While we will not be having a PTA next school year, I am hopeful that parents and teachers, with the collaboration of our school Administration (Principal Porras and VP Denise Fimbrez), will continue the PTA's mission to positively impact the lives of all children and families.
Have a great summer Pirates!

As students prepare for state exams tomorrow, we wanted to remind them they are the real G.O.A.T. (Greatest Of All Time) when it comes to testing! Classrooms took turns visiting with these adorable baby goats π from a local farm(Clauson Party of Five @ https://www.instagram.com/clausonpartyof5?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==) and at times it was hard knowing who the real KIDs were π. Check with your childs teacher & classroom Dojo for pics πΈ.
