Our single-family townhome project, Enclave at Mariemont, is starting to take shape!! This project reinvents the site where the historic Mariemont steam plant once stood on the bank of the Little Miami River into market-rate townhomes.
The townhomes are designed to that take advantage of their surrounding natural context and proximity to the historic Mariemont business district. The New Republic team designed the homes to capture views of the river and surrounding wooded hillsides from the living spaces. Roof terraces and ground floor walk out patios integrate the dwelling units with the outdoors.

Originally founded in 1886 by Ellen Battelle Deitrick, the Victorian at Riverside served as a beacon of hope for the Covington community after natural disaster.
When the Ohio River flooded in 1884, many local residents were displaced, prompting Deitrick to open her home to provide shelter to women in need. This act of altruism laid the foundation for what would become the Victorian at Riverside.
In 1894, the gothic revival Victorian building on Garrard Street in the Licking River Historic District officially opened its doors, offering both temporary and long-term housing to women.
NEW REPUBLIC is proud to be a part of the rehabilitation of this building to create a safe haven for women for generations to come!

NEW REPUBLIC just had a birthday! We turned 10 in 2024 ✨Founded in 2014, NEW REPUBLIC Architecture started out in a tiny 250 SF office on Walnut Street with just two people and a big dream: to help preserve and enhance our rich, historic built environment, and to serve our clients and our community through the practice of architecture. In the decade since we’ve relocated a total of three times, expanding our client list and our project types.
In the past ten years, we've mentored young talents, seen them become licensed architects, and garnered recognition from many organizations like the Cincinnati Business Courier and the Goering Center. With a total of over 500 units completed, and another 1200 units in progress or under construction, NEW REPUBLIC is proud of our record of innovative ideas and collaborative achievements. We have a 100% success record in gaining Part 3 Historic Tax Credit approvals for our clients and 100% of our projects that seek LEED certification obtain it.
As we look back on our past decade of growth and success, we are excited to step into the next decade of working with our clients and our community to design new spaces for people to live, grow and thrive.

Members of the NEW REPUBLIC team had a blast last Thursday evening attending the reimagined and elevated Cincinnati Preservation Awards at the historic Peterloon Estate. It was a fun evening dedicated to the celebration of outstanding rehabilitation and preservation projects and the people who work to preserve our historic cultural and architectural legacy.
The Peterloon Estate, nestled in the heart of Indian Hill, boasts a rich history dating back to the 1920s. Designed by the renowned architect William Adams Delano, this impressive Tudor Revival mansion stands as a testament to the elegance and grandeur of a bygone era.
NEW REPUBLIC is passionate about preserving the rich architectural heritage of Cincinnati, while adapting it for modern living and working for future generations. It is an honor to support Cincinnati Preservation Association in doing this important work.

NEW REPUBLIC is excited to be a part of the redevelopment and rehabilitation of the historic Anthony Wayne Hotel. Formerly a seven-floor, 100-room hotel, it was named for the frontier general that relied on Fort Hamilton as a supply base. The hotel closed in May 1964 and attracted just one bid at an August 1964 sheriff’s sale. It was then converted into 54 apartments. Eventually, the building was donated to the Ohio Preservation Alliance and 1995 it was added to the National Register of Historic Places as part of the Hamilton Historic Civic Center Historic District.
The building will be a hotel once again - the Well House Hotel - with 54 rooms and a 40-car parking lot. We can't wait to watch this transformational project become an integral part the Hamilton, OH community!

New Republic advocates for residential architecture in the state of Ohio!
New Republic Principal Graham Kalbli was at the Ohio State House yesterday to participate in AIA Advocacy Day. He met with state legislators to advocate on behalf of Ohio architects and architecture in three areas: the first full revision to the Residential Code of Ohio, the shortage of affordable housing across the state, and the maintenance of the Historic Preservation Tax Credit at its current levels.
All three of these issues deeply impact the residential architecture profession, as well as the availability of affordable housing, across the state.

Hyde Park Terrace looks marvelous in the afternoon sun!
This luxury apartment building on Hyde Park Square was built by the Meyers Y. Cooper Company in the 1930’s in the Collegiate Gothic style.
The Collegiate Gothic style became popular after the turn of the 20th century and references historic English Tudor and Gothic architecture. These structures are often horizontal compositions with the exception of a single tower or towers serving as a form of vertical punctuation.
The New Republic team studied new layouts for the existing dwelling units to update them for modern living while remaining true to the building's original character.

Congratulations to our own Lindsey Sullivan, winner of the Annual New Republic Chili Cookoff for 2024!
Competition was steep this year and judging was intense. A second round of voting was required to break a tie.
In the end, Lindsey took home the trophy and bragging rights for her spontaneous, "made on the fly" Tex-Mex recipe. When asked where she found her recipe, Lindsey declared, "I don't know, I just made it up!"
