Ringgold Elementary School
Ringgold’s Mission is to Educate All within a Great Learning Environment for Success 🦅
We had an absolute blast last night at the Ringgold Elementary School Open House event! It was so much fun to kick off the new school year with our Clarksville-Montgomery County School System Partner in Education.
Our Community pillar at the Millan Foundation is all about supporting events like this! By getting involved in activities that benefit our local schools and education system, we are helping to build a stronger, more educated community for everyone. We loved being able to lend a hand and show our support for the students, teachers, and staff. Here's to a fantastic school year ahead!

SCHOOL MEALS 🍎🍔🍪
How do I apply for Free and Reduced meals?
Applications for Free and Reduced meals for the 2024-25 school year are now open. Families who believe their children qualify for free or reduced meals must complete an application each year. The fastest and preferred method is to complete the application online at www.schoolcafe.com, or a paper application can be picked up at a student’s enrolled school.
For a student to receive benefits, applications must be submitted and approved each school year. You can use your student’s school ID number for the online application, but it is not required.

All CMCSS schools will operate on a 2-hour delay tomorrow, Thursday, May 9. With the expected strong storms, additional rain, and flooding overnight, the delay will provide additional time to ensure buildings are operational, and it will improve visibility for the morning commute. We will update families early tomorrow morning if there is a need for an additional delay or closure.
We love our teachers 🎸
Teacher Appreciation
To say, “Ringgold Elementary is lucky to have a principal like you,” would be an understatement. We admire your heart and dedication to our school and the Ringgold community.
Thank you for everything you’ve done for our students, teachers, and staff throughout your years as building principal. We appreciate you and look forward to celebrating you as a school this Friday 🦅♥️

All CMCSS schools will operate on a 1-hour delay tomorrow, Monday, January 22. This additional hour will provide more visibility for bus drivers for our earliest routes. Breakfast and lunch will be served.
School-based employees are expected to arrive 30 minutes prior to student arrival time. Bus drivers’ start times will shift by one hour. District employees should report at regularly scheduled times.
We look forward to welcoming students back tomorrow! Please exercise caution as you travel tomorrow morning as there may be isolated slick spots in some areas. Additionally, please ensure students are dressed warmly as the early morning temperatures will be cold before it warms up to the mid 40s in the afternoon. Temperatures in the mid 60s by the middle of the week will be a nice break from the bitter cold we have been experiencing!
All CMCSS schools and District offices will be closed, tomorrow, Wednesday, January 17. If mission-essential employees need to report to work, they will be contacted by supervisors. CMCSS custodial, facilities and maintenance crews, the Montgomery County Highway Department, and the Clarksville Street Department have been working diligently to make a lot of progress around the community. Unfortunately, the very cold temperatures have not been helpful, especially in the southern parts of the county that received more accumulations. Additionally, we are under a Wind Chill Advisory through tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. due to wind chills below zero.
CMCSS will be able to apply for a waiver from the state for the 2nd of 5 days for the closure tomorrow.
Crews will continue making progress, and we remain hopeful for warmer temperatures to assist with clearing roads, sidewalks, and parking lots. Decisions regarding athletics and practices for tomorrow evening will be made tomorrow morning.
We are closely monitoring the weather forecast for Thursday. Please stay tuned for additional updates. Stay safe and warm, and remember to protect people, pets, plants, and pipes!
Due to the continued Winter Storm Warning, hazardous driving conditions, and extreme-cold temperatures, all CMCSS schools and district offices will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday, January 16. All after-school activities, athletics, and practices are canceled. If mission-essential employees need to report to work, they will be contacted by supervisors.
CMCSS will be able to apply for a waiver from the state for the first of five days for the closure tomorrow. As a reminder from our January family newsletter, CMCSS will be able to apply for waivers for each of the five stockpile days used the week of December 11.
Families, please stay safe and warm! With the wind chills below zero, don’t forget to protect people, pets, plants, and pipes. We will continue monitoring the weather and conditions and will provide updates tomorrow regarding any potential closures or delays for Wednesday.
Congratulations! Ringgold loves you!

Hello Ringgold Families,
We are all very glad to see our students today and get instruction back on track after the extended break!
* We are inviting students to join us in celebrating the New Year by wearing pajamas to school tomorrow!
* Please make sure students have their names labeled in all winter clothing items, as well as lunch boxes. The lost and found is getting larger and remaining items are donated at the end of the year.
* If your family has faced difficulties with the recent tornado, please be sure to let your child's teacher know if we can help. We can help with things like providing clothing, backpacks, school supplies or counseling for students who were traumatized. Our school counselors can provide connections to many resources in the community for many other needs that you may have.
* If your child does not have a winter coat, gloves, or hat then please let your teacher know. We can find resources to help you with those things.
* There will be NO SCHOOL on Monday, Jan.15th in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
* The date that 2nd quarter (first semester) report cards will be updated and available on Powerschool has changed to January 30th.
Have a great month and I hope this new year brings many blessings to you and your families!
No school Monday and Tuesday. We are praying that our Ringgold Families are safe.
