Wes Kitts, who played running back for Austin Peay and graduated with a degree in kinesiology and exercise science, competed in this year's Olympics as a weightlifter for the United States.

Austin Peay alum Wes Kitts finishes eighth in Paris Olympics weightlifting Austin Peay alum Wes Kitts finished eighth in Olympic weightlifting at the Paris Games, matching his Tokyo performance. Lifting 374kg total, Kitts represented Team USA in the 102kg division. He credits his NCAA football experience for preparing him for the Olympics.
