Shangri-La Hot Yoga
Shangri-La is synonymous with paradise, utopia, or complete blissfulness. Come find your Shangri-La! We fully believe that yoga is for everyone.
This is why we offer classes of various temperatures and styles to ensure we meet each persons needs. We are passionate about the use of alignment & breath control to create a space that both challenges and supports our students. Because each of our instructors come from such diverse backgrounds, our students are sure to find something light and fun, relaxing and peaceful, powerful and challenging, or even disciplined and meditative.
Check out all of the events we have coming up this month at the studio. Have a date night or girl’s night at the paint & sip, relax and reset at the full moon flow, bond with your kiddos at little yogis, or connect with your community at book club.
Our next book club is September 29th, who’s in? Drop your book recommendations below. 👇
Another round of free community classes is coming up in September. Been thinking of trying yoga? Now is the time!

This week’s teacher spotlight is Magdalena!
Magdalena is our wonderful owner. Her experience in yoga has sent her around the world, including Rishikesh, India, Chiang Mai, Thailand, and now home (Clarksville, TN). She is a RYT 200hr plus continuing education in Bhakti Yoga, Kirtan, and Mantra Meditation. She continues studying as often as she can through her mentorship with Amy Barnes. You will hear her say “a true yoga teacher makes a great student.” In her class you can expect a sense of healing and rest, along with support with proper alignment of the body.
Favorite yoga pose: Pigeon pose. She loves the deep hip stretch and how it helps ease the low back. There’s many different ways to get into the pose and many ways to deepen depending on where you’re at in your practice.
Fun fact: She loves to travel. Next trip is Costa Rica on her yoga retreat!! Have you taken class with Magdalena? Let us know what your favorite thing is about her!
In this fast paced life it’s easy to lose focus on what really matters. Maybe life threw a curve ball this year. Maybe you’re needing a reset. Maybe you just need to find yourself again.
This November Magdalena is offering a very potent yoga retreat to At Home Farm in Costa Rica. All meals, lodging, classes and even body work appointments are included. Simply book your flight and meet her in the lush jungle where you’ll experience daily asana and meditation practice excursions, and profound rituals.
Bring comfy clothes, a journal, and all your travel essentials. We’ll do the rest for you.
Space is limited and this price goes up in a few days. Take advantage now to secure your spot.
This week’s teacher spotlight is Mandy!
After a friend’s encouragement, Mandy attended her first hot yoga class in 2017 and hasn’t looked back. Yoga began as an outlet for her to unwind from long, chaotic days at work and evolved into something much greater than the physical practice. The mental clarity and focus she gained on the mat were invaluable and prepared her for challenging and difficult situations off the mat.
Overtime, her interest in health and wellness became more evident and she made the decision to pursue a new direction in her work that aligned with her passion for yoga. This change started in India with a 200 hour immersion yoga teacher training in January 2020. She then returned home to continue her education under the mentorship of Shangri-la Hot Yoga manager, Melissa Sulowski. Beyond traditional yoga, she has shifted her movement practice to focus on strength and mobility. Mandy received her functional range conditioning (FRC) certification in 2023. Her hope is to provide a space where students feel welcome and comfortable exploring their movement and growing in their practice no matter their level or yoga background.
Favorite yoga pose: wild thing
Fun fact: Outside of the studio she works for a sports-focused physical therapy clinic in Nashville. Helping athletes rehab from injury while staying active with training. Have you taken class with Mandy? Let us know what your favorite thing about her is!
Little yogis is back next month! Spend some quality time with your kids and help them learn valuable skills. Sign up on mindbody to reserve your spot.
This week’s teacher spotlight is Blossom!
Blossom took her first yoga class almost a decade ago. What originally began as a search for a workout that she didn’t dread... quickly became a passion. She took a few years break while going through some major life changes. This break led her to realize how much she needed a regular practice in her life for her mental and physical health. She ran, nah, sprinted to Shangri-La and committed herself to a regular practice again. She also found a yoga family and the inspiration to share yoga with others! Her hope is to lead classes that are fun, energetic and a space for self love, self acceptance, and continued growth.
Blossom’s favorite yoga pose is chair (because that b***y tho 😉) Chair makes her feel strong and grounded.
Fun fact: Blossom is an artist and the chair of the Clarksville ArtWalk committee. Uplifting and supporting other artists in her community is a huge passion of hers. She also has solo art show coming up at the Roxy in October, so make sure to check it out!
Have you taken class with Blossom? Comment below with your favorite thing about her!
Come paint & sip with Blossom next month! There will be two painting options. Celebrate the release of the new Beetlejuice movie or paint your favorite kitty. There is something for everyone.

With school starting and summer coming towards an end, this is the perfect time to reset and set intentions. Join us for the full moon flow with Magdalena on August 17th!
Our August member of the month is Vikki! Vikki is always a positive light whenever she enters the studio. You are almost guaranteed to see her in the 9:15am class every day. Her energy is such a breath of fresh air, we love having Vikki as part of our yoga fam!
Say hi to Vikki next time you see her at the studio.
Yoga can be so many things and that’s what we love about it. Resting, meditative, stretching, strengthening, cardio, spiritual, energizing, calming, and so much more. Find the versions of yoga that you love and serve you well!
Our second teacher spotlight is Rebecca!
Rebecca started her yoga journey in 2017 as another way to exercise but quickly fell in love with the mind and body connection. After a couple of years at a gym-based studio, she followed her teachers to Shangri-la Hot Yoga and really focused on her practice. Rebecca’s passion for teaching and wanting to share the many benefits of yoga with others then emerged. She graduated from the 200hr training at Shangri-la Hot Yoga in January 2022 and completed a secondary 200hr YTT in March 2024. Rebecca’s focus is to empower yogis on and off the mat by creating a space that’s fun and uplifting.
Favorite yoga pose: half moon bc it’s challenging on its own but also many variations to explore
Fun fact: She has kept every fortune cookie fortune for the past 10 years bc of if you throw it away, it won’t come true. Have you taken class with Rebecca? Comment below with your favorite thing about her!

Laurence first experienced the power of yoga in 2010 when he accompanied his dear aunt to a class. Later, in 2017, hot yoga entered his life and he has not looked back! After retiring from the Army in 2020, Laurence deepened his practice and, in January 2022, completed Shangri La Hot Yoga’s 200 hour teacher training program. He is eager to share his passion for yoga’s physicality and mental focus in a fun, supportive manner that encourages yogis to listen to their own bodies.
