According to USAID, access to reproductive health, prenatal, neonatal, and maternity care is a pressing concern in Haiti, as the country continues to exhibit the highest rates of maternal and infant mortality in the Western Hemisphere.

In January 2024, JFI opened a birthing center in Marin, Haiti, an area about 15 minutes north of Port Au Prince.

This is a place where pregnancies are constantly high-risk due to gang violence and barriers that keep women from seeking medical care for themselves and their unborn babies.

According to the United Nations, nearly 5 million people in Haiti are suffering from acute food insecurity – defined as when a person's inability to consume adequate food poses an immediate danger to their lives or livelihoods.

One of the ways that JFI addresses Haiti’s food crisis is through a feeding center. At its height, the feeding center fed hundreds of Haitians in Montrouis.

We are so excited for our JFI partners in the Philippines! Mary graduated Cum Laude with a bachelor's degree in Secondary Education, majoring in Science! She sent this message: "I am Mary Christine J. Coraje, a worker from the JFI-Philippines. I am sending you this message to express my deepest gratitude for all of you, for allowing me to become part of the JFI family. This was a huge help, specifically in my studies. When I was hired at JFI, I was in the last semester of my degree. During this time, I was on the brink of not finishing it because of my and my family's financial incapabilities. But praise God, He made way and used JFI as an instrument for me to sustain my needs while I work for the Lord and continue to pursue my dreams. Once again, my heartfelt thanks to all of you! America has long held the record for adopting more children than any other country.

Working with a organization in Kenya that works with abandon physically challenged children and teens. They are looking for these medications which eats up half of there budget. Please let me know if you know of a cheap source or org that will donate these items. Thanks, Randy

Winnie Jalia from Kenya writes to JFI - African Child was started 2007 this is after outbreak of tribal war over post election violence which left weak small tribes displaced and homeless. Many children were desperate and alone and since the late mom Highline Kerubo Obita was generous and compassionate she decided to gather those kids together and give them food. Those children could see mom as only savior and couldn't leave her and that is how Orphanage started. Since then mom could allow abandoned children and total Orphans to be brought under her care. God connected her with a sponsor from Norway who could support Orphanage needs until sponsor suffered blood cancer and died 2018 April 11th. Since then Orphanage had 180 children. It has not been easy for mom to run the orphanage without a sponsor as we are very poor. Mother Obita becamre very sick in 2018 December and died 2019 august 9th. Before she died she told me to be in charge of the orphanage. Currently we have 150 children and it is not easy to provide for them. The premises we live is rental premises and pay monthly, food and clean is basic need. This community is surrounded with Muslims and they want to convert us to be Muslim believer by force. Sometimes they attack us and slaughter our people live to threaten us being Christians honestly not easy here.
