Brand new at the #1837! Come see what all the hype is about!
First watch party of the season! Let's go!
Our bartenders do an excellent job of checking cards, and will continue to be diligent to ensure our lodge is compliant with the law. Be proud to show your Moose card!
Yesterday around 5:30 a young lady came into #1269 while the band was unloading and getting ready to play. She sat at the end of the bar near the door, like any other member would.
She was approached by the bartender , Shelli, and te girl asked for a Bud Light, Shelli asked her if she was a member, asked her for a member card, and the young lady told Shelli that she wasn’t a member, it was her dad who was a member and she was waiting for him. Shelli told the young lady that she was going have to wait until her dad gets there before she can serve her drink. After a few minutes of waiting, the young lady got up and left .
Turns out that she was a decoy for liquor control, she was underage and looking to bust establishments. How do we know this? She busted a bar down the road later that night and people who were there identified her to a tee.
Moral to the story, as much as you think our bartenders are hard on people who come in there by asking for membership cards, and being strict about the rules, this is exactly why. If you are a member bringing in nonmembers, please remember to sign them in the book located to the left of the entry door. Please do not send them to the bar for drinks, we cannot sell to them. If your a member from any Aerie and our bar staff is questioning you or wanting to see your card, and you don’t have it, we will not serve you. Please understand that situations like yesterday is exactly how bars get busted. Please do not treat the bar staff with disrespect, they have a job to do and they are there to protect our Aerie.
Thank you Shelli for asking the right questions. We appreciate you and the rest of our bar staff.
Can you tell we're excited for Fall?
Way to go #1837!!!
