Join us THIS WEEK on Thursday, June 6 for the first Dodge Park Thursday of the season! 🎶🎉

Our summer event series kicks off in collaboration with the commUNITY alliance to celebrate Pride Night throughout the Dodge Park Farmers Market, Music in the Park and Patios ‘n’ Pints!

Farmers Market will begin at 3 p.m. with many local vendors to check out, and Music in the Park will start at 7 p.m. featuring ABBA Mania, an ABBA tribute band.

And, don’t forget to head across to the Upton House Garden at 5 p.m. for a cold drink at Connect Macomb’s Patios ‘n’ Pints.

Moms for Liberty has been under fire lately for its anti-gay, anti-public education, and – let’s face it – anti-truth rhetoric the group has become known for.

So how is Moms for Liberty responding? By launching an eye-popping $3 million billboard campaign in Arizona, Georgia, North Carolina, and Wisconsin in order to draw unsuspecting parents into its propaganda.

The billboards villainize teachers and attack (and lie about) President Biden’s new Title IX regulations protecting LGBTQ+ students. These aren’t the values that mainstream parents stand for, and we want to show that we are the majority!

The group says it’s “grassroots” but refuses to say who the $3 million is coming from – just saying the donations are from “investors.”1

Let’s be clear: Moms for Liberty was launched in 2021 and has ALREADY been called out for its extremism and hateful rhetoric by the Southern Poverty Law Center. They are extremely well-funded by a handful of politicians behind “Don’t Say Gay” and so-called “parents’ rights” bills, and their talking points – from book bans to stopping discussion of race in schools – are handed down from their inner circle.

And in the past year alone, they’ve had a chapter highlight a Hi**er quote in their published materials, a chapter whose leadership took photos with the Proud Boys, and have famously run extremist, racist, and homophobic candidates in school board races.

Moms for Liberty is on a publicity blitz, and we need to show the media and the public that this is not a grassroots movement for the majority – it’s a fringe campaign fueled by hate. Let’s raise our voices now!

We are excited to announce the launch of the PFLAG Connects: Gender Spectrum Parent Community, the newest addition to our PFLAG Connects: Communities (PCC) program. PCC provides safe, virtual, moderated spaces where people with shared experiences can connect each month.

Our first meeting, will meet for 90 minutes on the third Monday of each month, at 8pm ET/5pm PT, beginning Monday, May 20th.

Anyone who is a parent or caregiver of a young person who is gender diverse is welcome. The only requirement is to register in advance so that we can provide an even higher level of safety and support to attendees.
