Here are a few highlights from Day 1 of our Imagine Science 4-H camp. Students learned about the Alabama Water Watch program and they performed chemical and bacteriological testing on water at a local lake.

New Team of 4-H State Ambassadors Ready to Serve - Alabama Cooperative Extension System With the upcoming new school year comes a new group of talented, young leaders, ready to serve Alabama 4-H. Thirty-one members from 20 different counties make up the 2024-2025 team of 4-H state ambassadors.

Here is a great way to support Owen’s House during Child Abuse Prevention month. Leaders’ Corner Coffee and Tea is one of the best coffee shops in Shelby County, and it’s our 4-H Youth Council’s favorite meeting spot. Don’t miss out on this great way to make a difference this month!

Hey ! It's Child Abuse Prevention Month and the Fitzaccino is back!! Help us support Owens House during the month of April. Every Fitzaccino sold is $1 donated to the Owens House!

Tomorrow, February 29th, is Shelby County 4-Hers last day to register for 4-H Summer Camp. Our county will attend camp on June 24th - June 26th. The cost of camp is $175, which is all-inclusive (meals, activities, lodging, t-shirt). We only have a few spots left which will be filled on a first-come first-served basis. Current 4-Hers can register for camp in 4-H online under "Events." If you are not in 4-H and would like to go, you can enroll in 4-H for free at https://v2.4honline.com. Once your enrollment is approved you will be able to register for camp. For more information, please feel free to call our office during business hours (8:00 AM to 4:30 PM) at (205) 669-6763.

4-H Summer Camp registration ends on February 29th. This Valentine's Day, give your kids a gift that they will love and cherish for a lifetime. 4-H Summer Camp is a great place to make new friends, learn new skills, and have fun. Kids will participate in activities like paddleboarding, kayaking, a rock climbing wall, a giant swing, swimming, and much more. Shelby County 4-H will be at camp from June 24-26 and the cost is $175. Existing 4-H members can register by logging into their 4-H account online and looking under "Events." Anyone new to 4-H can enroll in 4-H for free at https://v2.4honline.com. Once your enrollment has been accepted, you can register or camp under "Events." For questions or assistance, please call the Shelby County Extension Office at (205) 669-6763 M-F from 8:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M.

STEM League/Tech Changemakers training and preparations for STEM camp on night 1 at the Alabama 4-H Center!

As we finish this 4-H year we would like to send a HUGE thank you to Cawaco RC&D for their support in helping to educate the youth of Shelby County through STEM, outdoor activities, gardening, and much more! We have been able to give kids some amazing opportunities and hands-on experiences thanks to you. Check out these pictures for a small sampling of some of the fun.
