In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, CAC and TRAX want to celebrate the artists whose talents, voices, and works stand as a reflection of the contributions Hispanic artists have and continue to make in the world of art. Our goal for this show is to exhibit the individual expression, styles, passions, and artistic voices of Hispanic artists across our region.

Book illustrator, Preston McDaniel's exhibition closes THIS Thursday, July 25.

Our hard-working cast of 62 K-12 kiddos worked their hearts out to present 2 very special performances of "Peter and Wendy" on Saturday!

Not only does this provide an amazing experience for our participating kids, but it also provides families and friends a wonderful day of theatrical entertainment. Thank you to all of you who participated and joined us in making this week so special.

As we've said... There is truly no week quite like Missoula Week!

Missoula Children's Theatre Camp returns NEXT WEEK with "Peter and Wendy"!

In this adaptation by Michael McGill,
"When Captain Hook sends his right-hand man, Smee, on a quest to capture Peter Pan, it’s seemingly business as usual…at first. Little does Hook realize what fantastic adventures await him and his pirate posse in their search for the elusive Peter Pan. Mistaken identities, ever-morphing clouds, a classy crocodile, some very lost boys, and a fickle shadow all add to the mayhem. Meanwhile, Mr. and Mrs. Darling embark on a quest of their own and find themselves trekking everywhere from Hawaii to the North Pole in search of their three missing children. With help from the earth-friendly Neverlanders, exotic Neverland creatures, and faithful Tinker Bell, the Darling children are found, disputes are ultimately resolved, and everyone–including Captain Hook–finds a place where they truly belong."

Mark your calendars for this Thursday, 5:00 - 7:00 PM as we launch into the imaginative worlds of illustrator, Preston McDaniels!

Join us in the CAC Gallery on the 2nd Floor of the Columbus Community Building for our opening reception!

This week we wrapped up the 11th year of our ART2GO program!

Every year, a team of our board, staff, and volunteers head out to visit 3rd grade classrooms in our area!

Volunteers lead activities with each classroom to highlight that "Art is individual and cannot be wrong". Students get the chance to see and analyze famous artworks, practice self-expression, participate in an in-classroom Gallery Walk, and hear readings from "The Dot" by Peter Reynolds and "Beautiful Oops" by Barney Saltzberg.

During the lesson, students receive their very own Art2Go "Studio in a Bag" that includes an activity book created by local artist Brad Zywiec that helps students address the question, "What should I draw?"

Thank you for letting us visit your classrooms and share the joys of art!

You only have through MAY 23 to explore the exhibition by our Columbus Area Artists! This show is a collaboration between many local artists who work in a variety of medias.

Several of these artworks will go on to the Association of Nebraska Art Clubs (ANAC) exhibit and be given the opportunity of awards!
