Our Story
The Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities oversees a statewide system of services and supports for people with developmental disabilities and their families. DODD does this by developing services that ensure a person's health and safety, encouraging participation in the community, increasing opportunities for meaningful employment, and providing residential services and support from early childhood through adulthood.
DODD partners with many organizations and agencies to develop and lead these services, which are implemented by Ohioβs 88 county boards of developmental disabilities. The county boards also partner with thousands of independent service providers to deliver the broad range of services.
People celebrate Developmental Disabilities Awareness and Advocacy Day at the Ohio Statehouse.
