Oelslager Supports State Operating Budget COLUMBUS-The Ohio House of Representatives yesterday passed House Bill 33, the State Operating Budget for fiscal years 2024-25, with a sweeping vote of 78-19, announced Speaker Pro Tempore, State Rep. Scott Oelslager (R-North Canton).

Ohio House Approves New State Construction Budget COLUMBUS -The Ohio House of Representatives has approved the state's two-year construction budget, a $3.5 billion plan that funds a variety of educational, recreational and public safety needs throughout the state.

Last Thursday I voted to remove Larry Householder as Speaker of the House of Representatives. I issued the following statement:

"I voted to remove Larry Householder as Speaker of the Ohio House of Representatives. He has shown that he can’t effectively lead and work with other branches of government to serve the state of Ohio.

The sad part is the House has been acting in a strong bipartisan fashion throughout the 133rd General Assembly, and that should not be overshadowed. For example, the state operating budget passed out of the House Finance Committee, which I chair, 32-0. The final budget passed out of the House 75-17 and out of the Senate 29-1."

This week the Controlling Board approved funds to support local schools for the upcoming school year. Capital funds were also approved for projects at Heartland Behavioral Healthcare and Indian River Juvenile Correctional Facility.
