Today starts the 8th annual Trench Safety Stand Down (TSSD) Week. Trench and excavation safety is critical to focus on when present at a job site. The National Utility Contractors Association (NUCA), in conjunction with OSHA, highly encourages employers involved in trench work to participate in conducting a stand-down by taking a break to recognize and acknowledge hazards related to working in and around trenches.

Team Fishel co-sponsored a career event with Ohio Means Jobs and WeConnect, the City of Westerville’s own business hosting and data center, on May 7th in conjunction with the state of Ohio’s In-Demand Jobs Week.

This initiative was in direct support of Governor Dewine and Lt. Governor Husted’s Office of Workforce Transformation. One of the Governor’s offices' key focus is “Strengthening Ohio’s Broadband & 5G Workforce.”

Team Fishel hosted 11 job seekers for the In-Demand job of Fiber Splicer. We partnered with Ohio Means Jobs in order to increase the awareness of a number of In-Demand careers within the telecommunications industry.

Congratulations to Teammate Hank F., Ohio Safety Coordinator, for passing the Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) exam. This exam assesses an individual’s understanding of managing a construction site, training individuals in OSHA regulations, maintaining a safe work environment through worksite audits, and ethical and legal concerns involved with the health and safety of workers at a worksite.
