Exciting News: Three Years of Philanthropic Excellence!

We are thrilled to announce that for the third consecutive year, our company has been recognized for our outstanding philanthropic giving within the community. This achievement is particularly special this year, as it marks a significant milestone for our newly established Community IMMPact Committee.

About the Community IMMPact Committee:

Formed just a year and a half ago, the Community IMMPact Committee has quickly grown to become our largest internal committee. What makes this committee unique is that it places the power of sponsorship decisions directly into the hands of our employees. This democratic approach not only amplifies our impact in the community but also enriches our workplace culture by involving employees in meaningful ways.

Shout out to our IMMPact Safety Committee for hosting our safety day on May 10. They put on a full day of speakers covering various important topics in our industry. Throughout this multi-staged project, MM renovated two bathhouses, built one new bathhouse, built eight camper cabins, renovated five family cabins, built an accessible walking path at the summit, renovated the historic summit building, renovated the pool house, built a splash pad.

We are pleased to announce the recent promotion of Mary Macleod to Senior Human Resources Coordinator. In the 3.5 years that Mary has been a full-time team member of the HR department, she helped to grow and expand her role from HR Coordinator through countless employee touchpoints. Mary has helped the company grow by hiring and onboarding hundreds of new employees; she has planned annual events and happy hours, celebrated employee birthdays and milestones, and helped support all of our employees and business leaders in all aspects of HR. Mary continues to grow and expand the HR department at Miles-McClellan and represents all things MM inside and outside the company.

Working with Mary has been a pleasure, and we look forward to watching her grow and succeed here at Miles-McClellan. Join me in congratulating Mary on her hard work and new position - we know she will continue to do an excellent job for our employees and improve our HR department daily!

Please join us in congratulating Sinh Phan on his promotion to Superintendent. Sinh started with MM as a laborer and was promoted to Assistant Superintendent in 2021. He has worked on a number of successful projects, including Monroe Housing Authority Renovation Phase 1, Union County Human Resources Renovation, Carolina's Telco Bank, Charlotte Mecklenburg Parking Deck EV Upgrades, and David Taylor Corporate Center. He is also looking to begin another Carolinas Telco branch soon!

Sinh's commitment to delivering high-quality projects is a testament to his leadership at Miles-McClellan. He embodies our core values and is a true team player, always ready to lend a hand. Sinh's dedication to client satisfaction is unwavering, and he takes pride in his relationships with our clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors. 2023 Trailblazer Award: Brad Bloomberg

"Throughout Brad's 16+ years working at Miles-McClellan he has led with a passion for learning and training. Brad has cemented himself as an MMC trailblazer by developing our Project Engineer onboarding training modules and updated PE onboarding plan. Not only has this made for a better and more inclusive onboarding process for our new project engineers, but it has also helped to have consistency across all new team members. Brad has also demonstrated continued leadership and development for his team, developing PE's to APMs and PMs, and helping to advance Miles McClellan's technology tools by leading our Technology IMMpact Committee. Brad conducted estimating and technology training inside and outside the organization, helping represent Miles-McClellan Construction within the local construction community. We appreciate the dedication he's shown to help Miles-McClellan be a place for people to learn and grow in their careers from the beginning."

2023 Jim Riehle Burning Daylight Award (OH): Mike Scholl

The "Burning Daylight" is a new award given to a field team employee who most resembles and honors Jim Riehle's legacy amongst our company, projects, clients, and team. This employee exhibits the tenacious work ethic, can-do attitude, goal-achieving mentality, and Miles-McClellan company loyalty and family spirit that Jim brought with him daily. When they are in your crew or on your project, you know that the work will always get done on time, and they will always work to improve those around them. "Come on (insert your nickname here), burning daylight."

"For years, Mike has shown his loyalty to Miles-McClellan. I have seen through the years all the skills he demonstrated and has perfected with great passion, from drywall/carpentry/laboring / concrete work to working beside Jimmy for years. Mike is always looking for the right ways to make any job he's on better, even if that means getting there early or working late. Also, he is willing to step in as a superintendent to run work when asked to. His dedication to his work and willingness to be a team player speaks to the quality of his craft and character."

2023 Terry L. McClellan Professional Technical Excellence Award (OH): Monica Gutierrez

"As a PA for the GC side, Monica helped improve and streamline many of the bidding and administrative processes. Since transitioning to the Masonry division, she has excelled in her role and has continued taking on additional responsibilities. Monica has shown to put the team above all else, helping others with duties when asked, including training others because it was best for the team and company. She is technically savvy and eager to learn about areas not familiar to her. She is a dedicated employee who is unafraid to ask for more work or speak up when needed."

"Monica takes the initiative and has an admirable workload capacity. Her ability to prioritize so she eliminates stress when multiple tasks need completion is exceptional. She always looks at how things can be done instead of how they can't."

2023 Terry L. McClellan Professional Technical Excellence Award (NC): Kyle Parsons

"Kyle is one of those guys who wants to do it right, no matter what. Whether working weekends and long hours to ensure a pool deck is ground to the perfect slope or redoing subcontractors' work after they leave for the day, Kyle holds a high standard of quality for all projects he works on."

2023 Gregory L. Hall M&M Award (OH): Cindy K. Wooden

"Throughout Cindy's quarter century of working at Miles-McClellan, she has shown an unparalleled desire to do anything needed. Her duties have run the gamut from IT Assistant, Accounting Assistant, Office Manager, Fleet Manager, Asset Manager, Travel Agent to Executive Assistant. She has worked hard to help the company grow and has frequently put her interests behind the organization's."

"She has never hesitated to pitch in and do jobs that had no one assigned to them and has procured services as diverse as IT Infrastructure Consultants to Exterminators. Any tasks that were not Sales, Estimating, or Operations fell generally to Corporate Services and then usually in some form to Cindy. This caused her job to be extremely hectic and diverse, but she was able to step up with a smile on her face and take care of it. She has been the "Mom" of the company and has earned this award many times over. I could keep typing, but I'm sure you get the idea."

2023 Gregory L. Hall M&M Award (NC): Tanner Balik

"Tanner has mastered his position in both Penta and OnBase, and he's attempted phenomenally at Acumatica while maintaining Corpay on top of all of these. Even when he's sick or returning from vacation, he continues to catch up on checks, invoices, or reminders for us to get our part done. Tanner is flexible about how to deal with new customers or vendors. He will work with Operations when we have difficult people, deciding how to compromise with them when possible or necessary. In addition to all of this, Tanner is a nice guy. He jokes with coworkers while still maintaining respect and appreciation because he gets his job done, and that's the most any of us can ask for!"

"Tanner holds a special place in the hearts of all MM NC employees. He is always just a phone call or email away and responds quickly to help however he can. Even though he's in the Ohio office, he has made a massive impact in the NC office, and we couldn't be more thankful for him!"

We are pleased to announce our newest Executive Superintendent - Russ Brobst!

Russ started working at Miles-McClellan in the masonry division in 2003. Three years later, he was promoted to Mason Foreman and became a Mason Superintendent in 2008.

In 2011, he transitioned to the GC side, working as an Assistant Superintendent on two large projects in Lebanon, Ohio. In 2013, Russ was again promoted to Superintendent.

Russ has completed many successful projects, such as The Barn at Franklin Park and the Tru by Hilton by the airport. Russ was promoted to Senior Superintendent in June of 2022, and has worked hard to progress to the next level.

Russ, congratulations on your new role. Thank you for helping to build Miles-McClellan Construction.

2023 Lonnie L. Miles Client Champion Award (OH): Matt Mackey

"In professional terms, his strong client relationship management skills and his ability to work with different entities within the Columbus public school system have allowed us to win multiple bids and consider them repeat clients. He always has the right answer and knows exactly how to word something so that a group of architects/owners/and non-construction professionals can understand what we're talking about."

"Matt has performed as PE & PM on numerous projects for Columbus City Schools. He has built relationships with many people at CCS through his job performance and strong dedication to customer service. He is often contacted for service issues related to his HVAC projects, and he always responds promptly with clarity and solutions, even when the issues aren't our responsibility. Matt understands the need for urgency and will quickly react to investigate the issue and see it through until resolution, even if it means standing in the elements. Matt's reputation with CCS spread to a worker at New Story Schools, which has led to additional negotiated work and a couple of potential negotiated projects in Columbus and Lancaster that could happen in the next couple of years."
