The month is dedicated to raising awareness about the vulnerabilities children can face when they do not have reliable, caring adults to support and guide them. Reliable adults may include parents, older siblings, teachers, or spiritual leaders. Not having reliable adults can put them in harm’s way. Access to intensive home-based treatment services is one of the core services included in OhioRISE, the state’s program aimed at helping children and youth with the most complex behavioral health challenges."

Local parents will soon have access to home-based mental health treatment for their children Area counties are implementing or growing access to intensive home-based treatment for youth’s mental health, and the Ohio Department of Medicaid is providing grants―$1.47 million locally and $10 million statewide―to support these initiatives.

PRIDE is an annual celebration of the LGBTQ+ community, promoting respect, inclusion, and dignity for all. In a youth and family care organization like NYAP, celebrating PRIDE is important because it sends a powerful message of acceptance, love, and support to LGBTQ+ youth. It creates a safe and supportive environment where they can thrive and be proud of who they are. By celebrating PRIDE, NYAP fosters a sense of belonging, alleviates feelings of isolation, and builds a strong support network.
