A few weeks ago I shot a proposal at someone’s home in Little Rock. The night started like these surprise proposals always do — people anxiously pacing and setting things up to make it perfect. My job was to hide and come out as the guy was beginning to drop to one knee. The problem, though, was that they wanted me to hide in a back bedroom and they’d text me to come out. I thought, “Ok, sure. This will be finneeee.”

So I’m sitting in the room, in the dark, waiting for my cue to come out and start shooting. I hear them talking, I hear them starting to take family photos, and then I get the text: “NOW!”

So, me being me, I bust up out of that bedroom (as quietly as possible of course) and start making my way down the creaky hallway. Right as I get into the living room area, the poor bride to be hears me coming and turns around to see me, a large bearded man, coming down the hallway at a pretty brisk pace.

She’s SCREAMS bloody murder. We’re talking full on “home-intrusion-alert-the-neighbors-she-needs-HELP” type of scream. 💀 She’s frantically looking around like “WHY IS NO ONE PANICKING?!” as her fiancee-to-be says “babe, babe look at me. Babe focus on me it’s fine.”

It’s all anyone can do to get through the rest of the proposal as he drops to one knee because by that time, the entire room was laughing uncontrollably.

By far the most memorable proposal I’ve been a part of in a very, very long time.

And I now know the reaction I’d get if I ever tried to burglarize someone’s home 🤦🏻‍♂️

Sometimes the dreamy light right after the storm falls perfectly in-line with the dreamy couple traveling in for their session & you reallllllyyyyy get to create some magic together. I loved my time with Sam & Ben, laughed more than I usually do, and found myself wishing for 20 more minutes of light so we could keep creating together. Thankful for sessions like these for recentering me ❤️

my beautiful lil frands got married 😭❤️ so happy to have gotten to be there for Macie & Jordan’s perfect wedding day. Two people who are so special to me. I also came out of the deal with a homemade cheesecake, so honestly nothing but positive vibes from the whole experience. 10/10

It’s been a wild few months at my day job, so my Instagram has fallen on the back burner since July. Well, since 2019 if we’re being honest 😂 I hardly share anything on here anymore.

I’m officially done with event season at work just in time for my overly-full Fall season to kick off. I swore to myself I wouldn’t overbook but… here we are 💪🏼

Had a great time hanging with Shelby & Connor in Northeast AR for their engagement session! And thank youuuuu for letting us use the farm — one of my favorite sunsets I’ve gotten to witness in a while ❤️

Love when brides know how to make an entrance! Alexa & Joanna did just that, dancing their way right into my heart. So thankful the universe aligned perfectly to let me be the photographer for this day ❤️ So much love for these two!

Have you ever met someone and left the interaction feeling lighter? That’s what all of my interactions with Macie & Jordan have been. I’ve been fortunate to know these two for a long time now, and even more fortunate to have them in my inner circle of friends. They’re both insanely talented artists — Macie with her art and Jordan with his music p — and they share those talents so well with the world.

Someone told me recently that my friendship group read more like a collection of interesting people, and I kind of loved that. Everyone I am fortunate enough to surround myself with brings something unique to the world around them with their gifts, and these two might be one of the strongest embodiment of that idea.

They’re as beautiful on the inside as they are on the outside, and they’re the kindest souls to ME and those around them. How lucky am I to get to document this portion of their lives? The world brings so many of the right people together. Grateful to play a small part in their story together ❤️

This was probably one of the most personally-important weddings I’ve ever shot.

This is Lauren. Lauren’s been my friend for about 13 years now. Lauren’s one of those ride-or-die-call-her-in-the-middle-of-the-night-for-help type friends. I know no one more loyal. If I shot your wedding from 2012-2014, there’s a good chance this babe was beside me. And what hardly anyone knows about Lauren is that she did it all for free. She quite literally refused payment. She was just there to help ME and be there for my clients. Mostly because she knew I was a poor college student 😂 It’s just the type of person she is.

Lauren got married back in April and she had the most perfectly-her wedding I could have ever dreamed. The backyard of the house she grew up in was the perfect setting for Lauren to marry the man she’s loved for so long. It was the honor of a lifetime to get to capture these moments for someone I love so much. I laughed, I cried, I hugged everyone as tightly as I could and got hugged just as tightly back. That’s a good wedding to me.
