Today marks the 30th anniversary of the opening of Upper Cumberland Family Physicians, a primary care medical practice that has been my life’s work.

The company started with me and three employees on Willow Avenue, near the new Starbucks, for 5 years. Now we have three doctors, two Nurse Practitioners, a Physician Assistant and 13 employees, where we have occupied our present location on Neal Street for almost 25 years.

Drs. Jane Anne Gotcher, Ernie Buchanan and I have conducted tens of thousands of office and hospital visits during these years of service. We’ve cared for thousands of family members of all ages. We’ve welcomed newborns, many of which represent the fourth generation for our families. And, we’ve said final goodbyes to many folks who felt like family members to us.

All of these experiences are the norm for Family Medicine in the UC. I am proud of what we’ve accomplished in these 30 years. Thank you to all patients, employees, CRMC staff and UC colleagues of all specialties.

Don’t share your personal or financial information if someone calls, texts, or emails you promising access to the vaccine for a fee.
