One of the most common contributors to chronic pain is inflammation., which can damage the body’s cells and organs, and cause constant pain in joints, muscles and tissues.

The good news is that there are many natural foods which can aid in reducing inflammation and easing pain over time before you resort to medication. Here’s a general list of foods that have been known to help reduce inflammation:

Happy National Granola Bar Day! Today I want to share a delicious granola recipe that makes great use of the wonderful Cinnamon essential oil. Cinnamon essential oil can be used more than just a spice. It has various benefits to your health as mentioned below:

BENEFITS
🍃 antibacterial
🍃 antifungal
🍃 antidiabetic
🍃 antioxidant properties

INGREDIENTS
🍃 4 cups (500 g) Rolled oats
🍃 1 cup (125 g) Nuts/seeds (pecans, almond shavings, sunflower seeds)
🍃 ¼ cup (30 g) Chia seeds
🍃 ¼ teaspoon Fine sea salt
🍃 ½ cup (120 ml) Melted coconut oil
🍃 1/3 cup (80 ml) Maple syrup
🍃 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
🍃 2/3 cup (85 g) Unsweetened coconut flakes (or 1/2 cup (65 g) shredded coconut)
🍃 1/2 cup (65 g) Chopped dried fruit - cranberries or raisins (optional)
🍃 2 - 3 drops of Cinnamon Essential Oil

INSTRUCTIONS
👩🏻‍🍳 Heat oven to 175°C.
👩🏻‍🍳 Line a large baking sheet with baking paper, set aside.
👩🏻‍🍳 In a large mixing bowl, stir together oats, nuts, chia seeds, ground cinnamon and sea salt until evenly combined.
👩🏻‍🍳 In a separate measuring cup, stir together the melted coconut oil, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and drops of Cinnamon oil until combined.
👩🏻‍🍳 Pour the coconut oil mixture into the oats mixture, and stir until evenly combined.
👩🏻‍🍳 Spread the granola out evenly on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 20 minutes, stirring once halfway through.
👩🏻‍🍳 Remove from oven, add the coconut shavings, and give the mixture a good stir. Bake for 5 more minutes, until the coconut is lightly toasted and golden.
👩🏻‍🍳 Remove from the oven and let cool until the granola reaches room temperature. Then stir in the dried fruit or any other optional add-ins you might prefer.
👩🏻‍🍳 Serve immediately, or store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 month.

Many people's new year resolution includes weight loss. One major symptom that affects your weight loss goal is - constipation. Being constipated means your bowel movements are tough or happen less often than normal.
The normal length of time between bowel movements varies widely from person to person. Although going longer than 3 or more days without one, though, is usually too long. After 3 days, your stool gets harder and more difficult to pass.

Here's some info on the root causes, symptoms and at home treatments:

SYMPTOMS:
👩🏻‍⚕Few bowel movements
👩🏻‍⚕Trouble having a bowel movement (straining to go)
👩🏻‍⚕Hard or small stools
👩🏻‍⚕A sense that everything didn’t come out
👩🏻‍⚕Belly bloating

COMMON CAUSES:
💪🏻Changes to what you eat or your activities
🚰Not enough water or fiber in your diet
🥛Eating a lot of dairy products
😴Not being active

To celebrate national oatmeal muffin day, I want to share some knowledge about oats itself.

There are different types of Oats:
👩‍🌾 Instant oats: Oat groats that have been steamed and flaked.
👩‍🌾 Rolled oats (regular or old-fashioned oats): Oat groats that have been steamed and rolled into flakes that are thicker (and thus take longer to cook) than instant oats.
👩‍🌾 Steel-cut oats (Irish oats): You get the whole oat kernel, cut up. These take about 20 minutes to cook.
👩‍🌾 Scottish oats: These are like steel-cut oats, but instead of being cut, they are ground.
👩‍🌾 Oat groats: This is the whole oat kernel -- no cuts, flakes, or grinding. They take longer to cook than other oats. Give them 50-60 minutes to cook, after you bring the water to a boil.
