Our Valentines Day Makeover 2024 "Victims to Survivors" for women healing after abuse was a big succeess! Many women received makeovers and got to go "shopping" in all of the collected donations from all of the wonderful people in the community who contributed. There are so many people and groups to thank that made this special day possible. We will be posting that list of special thanks. The "VVV" TEAM, (Voices for Victims Volunteers) a newly added group of AMAZING women, helped make this the best Makeover we have ever had to date! The venue got decorated beautifully, with love and extra detail. Handmade salads and sandwhiches. Pastas and Fruit Salads. Sweet Tea and Lemonade. Home baked cookies, cakes, brownies and cupcakes. Thank you to several communities in CORONA, EASTVALE, NORCO, YORBA LINDA, ANAHEIM HILLS, BREA, and Lake Elsinore for donating so many items to spoil and love these girls with. What a beautiful day and an unforgettable Valentines Day!

We believe in lifting the spirits of Domestic Violence Victims by making events like this one, to remind them of and to restore their value and perception of themselves. Building internal confidence within those who need it the very most. Watching it emit outwardly is such a joy and we hope that the love they received from so many gave them hope; strength.

Please talk to your teens about Domestic Violence by taking Preventative Action through educating them and yourselves on the Red Flag Warning Signs, the cycles and patterns, and the severity of the risks involved with entering into or remaining in an abusive relationship. Anybody can be a victim. 80% of victims are between the ages of 16 and 24% however. Don't wait to have that conversation.

So incredibly proud to announce our new addition to our organization! This wonderful and big hearted group of ladies has joined forces with us to become The "VOICES FOR VICTIMS" Team. "VVV" for short! We cannot express the level of magic that goes on when we are all together! We will be announcing the names, details and titles of each one of these ladies very soon. We may....yes....we may be able to CHANGE THE WORLD.

The first purpose of forming this team is to help us bring in much needed funding through various fundraising tactics. They will play a crucial role in structuring the future of this organization by gathering local support through citizens, businesses and resources in our local communities. These ladies are full of heart and soul, and we could not be more thankful for each one of them. A couple of them will sit on our board as well! Some of them will be providing food and baked goods, others collecting clothing donations, others organizing clubs and monthly donation set ups, and many will help with event days and set ups, orchestrating the use of their beautiful venue, and so much more. ALL OF THESE LADIES have a beautiful gift to bring to the table which is themselves. Each has something unique to offer. We commend them in speaking up and out, with us, and with everyone who is working to find solutions and justice in this field. What amazing examples of women leaders, standing up for something they believe in, for the better good of local women and children in need and suffering as a direct result of Domestic Violence.

Dreams Corp. began back in 2016, but the vision was set long before. When we started out, we were focused mainly on the educational aspect of Domestic Violence Prevention and Awareness Education; and a program curriculum we have written for schools targeted at the youth. WE CONTINUE TO KEEP THIS A LARGE PART OF OUR MISSION. In addition to this, we began to follow the path and the trajectory it was taking us. Wherever the need arises, we try to meet those needs. Our next area of concentration came in the way of Homelessness caused by Domestic Violence. 90% of all women with children who are homeless are so due to Domestic Violence. Once we were added to the hotline 211, the abundance of calls began flooding in. 75% of all of the calls we get are for Emergency Shelter and other Emergency Needs for DV Victims, often with children. There are NOT NEARLY ENOUGH beds or spaces or shelters period available for these emergency situations. They are almost always full, and victims must go on a waiting list. In the meantime, they are faced with two scary choices. Do I sleep on the streets in hiding or go back to the abuser while I wait? If they go back, the chances of them leaving again or getting out reduce significantly. Sometimes, they leave in a body bag.

We come in as the middle man so to speak. In between exiting the relationship and finding shelter or a program long term. We get calls at all hours. We do our best to get emergency motel rooms and food to the victims. Whatever hour. We have been struggling with a low budget and have to turn away many victims sadly. Our long term goal is to open a home or center/shelter of our own. With the help of The VVV Team, we hope to be able to fundraise and network with the community, and to achieve City and State funding and grants.

One event that is dear to our hearts, and truly transforms victims and builds their self confidence is our Makeovers! We give these several times a year. They include Hair, Makeup, Clothing, Jewelry and Accessories, and a full photo shoot! In addition to the services mentioned, we also assist with therapy workshops, legal aid and court filings, job training and assistance, counseling resources, transportation and essential needs, child care, and wishlists for kids during the holidays. We have a vision to change the world! Join us by saving one life at a time!

01/26/2024

Exciting announcements coming in the next few days! Stay tuned....!

We are contacted 24/7 every single day for Emergency Needs and other needs of Domestic Violence Victims and their children. We are listed on 211, and at places like Doctors Offices and other businesses. We are currently working on grants, fundraising, donations, and other ways to secure funds so that we are able to continue to offer these services.

Domestic Violence can look like many things, it can be physical, mental, emotional, or financial. It uses fear, control, humiliation, gaslighting, and threats to property, people and even animals. It is a vicious cycle, a proven pattern. Please learn the red flag warning signs and educate yourself, your teens and kids, your family and your friends. Talk about it. With the proper knowledge and preventative education, you have a much greater chance of recognizing key signs at an early stage and get out before it continues on its miserable path to destruct. It can happen to anyone and holds no prejudisms.

For more information on preventative education, please send us a message! Did you know, we can help with making a safe exit plan, shelter, food, legal help for Restraining Orders and Child Custody, clothing, furniture, essential needs, transportation, child care, homelessness aid, applications, getting a job, full makeovers, workshops, counseling, Christmas Wishlists, and other helpful resources. Send us a message for more info!

SPONSOR A CHILD!

Photos from Dreams Corp's post 11/30/2023

SPONSOR A CHILD IN NEED FOR THE HOLIDAYS!! "HOPE FOR THE HOLIDAYS", our annual Christmas Program and Event, has over 90 kids that need sponsored this year. A majority of them are victims of Domestic Violence, the others are local children who would otherwise not be receiving gifts due to family hardships. We have two events, one is private, and takes place on Dec 8. The other is public, and on Sunday, December 17, at Avonlea Park in Eastvale from 1 to 4 pm. We will have Santa, food, games and prizes, activities for the whole family, music and gift giving.

What we need:
1.)SPONSORS for the kids WISHLISTS! We need to get all of these kids sponsored and the gifts turned in by Dec. 6! (when you sponsor a child you will receive the info on how to turn in your gifts) You may adopt up to 3 childrens wishlists per family unless otherwise permitted to do more. Look at our lists, catergorized by boy/girl and ages. Select your child(ren), and put their names in the comment section of this post. The lists will be updated regularly. If your child has been sponsored, you will be asked to select another. PLEASE ONLY SPONSOR IF YOU ARE POSITIVE THAT YOU WILL BE ABLE TO FULFILL THE LIST AND ON TIME. When you comment, and when the childs list is approved for you to sponsor, you will then need to send a text (text only) to 714 401 1044 stating your name and the children you were approved for. From there, we can work out drop off and or pick up instructions. You may wrap and label your self, or we can wrap and label as we have groups of kids who volunteer for this activity.

2.)SPONSORS either private party or local businesses, to help provide monetary funding for our event on the 17th to cover food, prizes, expenses; as well to purchase gift cards for the kids on our waiting lists and any additional in need children that may arise or show.

3.)VOLUNTEERS! We need volunteers to help with set up, games, and activities on the 17th. Perfect opportunity to be able to meet your sponsored kids too, or just join in on the joy of bringing these kiddos happiness! We also need some volunteers to make/bring desserts/candy and drinks.

4.)WE ARE ACCEPTING UNMARKED TOYS AS WELL: These will go to the kids who signed up late or on our waiting list.

It takes an entire Community to pull off successful events, and we thank you for your kind and generous hearts. There is truly no greater joy than bringing smiles and laughter to children who are struggling or suffering. Pure magic. Help us spread the love this season. Thanks so much!!

The families suffering from Domestic Violence that we are helping this year are temporarily in motels, which have no way to cook a Thanksgiving meal. We have paid for them to go to a nearby restaurant so they do not miss out on this meal. We just received another 7 people, and are asking the community to help us provide this meal for them as well. It is $20 per person. If you would like to help provide the additional 7 a meal with the others, it would be so appreciated! Any amount helps! Our venmo is listed here. Please put in memo "Thanksgiving Meal 2023" Thanks for reading and have a blessed Thanksgiving!!

Dreams Corp has 11 kids this year that need sponsored for Halloween. It is $50 to sponsor a child (see list of names and ages in photo. Will update as they are chosen as to not duplicate.) We are taking them all to a Halloween Store to pick out their own costume, (as that is part of the magic of Halloween for kids) at the end of this week. Please only commit to it if you for sure can, and do so in the comments with the name of the child. I will confirm and message you the information. We also are looking for some donations of candy. If you are interested in volunteering on Halloween to trick-or-treat with us or help give rides, please comment below as well. Thank you so much and have a safe Halloween!

🤝 Let's Talk About Community Power Against Domestic Violence 🤝

🌟 Domestic Violence affects us all, directly or indirectly. It's not just an issue for a few; it's a concern for our entire community. Here's why YOUR donation matters:

1️⃣ **Strength in Numbers**: When our community comes together, we amplify our impact. Your donation joins a collective force working towards ending Domestic Violence.

2️⃣ **Local Support**: Donations help local organizations provide crucial services, such as shelters, counseling, and legal aid, right here in our community. Your support directly helps our neighbors.

3️⃣ **Prevention and Education**: By contributing, you help fund prevention programs and educational initiatives. This means breaking the cycle and creating awareness from the ground up.

4️⃣ **Empower Survivors**: Your donation provides survivors with the resources they need to rebuild their lives and regain their independence. You empower them to heal and thrive.

5️⃣ **Change Culture**: When our community takes a stand, we send a message that Domestic Violence is not acceptable. Your donation helps shift cultural norms and promotes respect and love.

6️⃣ **Be the Change**: By donating, you become an active part of the solution. You inspire others to get involved and create a ripple effect of support and compassion.

Your donation isn't just about money; it's about making a lasting change in our community. Together, we can break the cycle of violence and create a safer, more compassionate world for everyone. 🌍💜

Please consider supporting us, or any other Domestic Violence group in your area. DV Victims make up 80% of all Homeless Females. Why? Often times they get turned away due to no availability in a shelter or program when they leave. These are emergency situations, and we are having to literally give them the choice of sleeping on the streets, or going right back home to the abuse and abuser, until there is a space open for them or a program waiting list calls their name. They lose all hope, moments after they have just gained it when they made the scary decision to leave. Many will actually never again attempt to try and leave. They become permanently homeless, or permanently miserable and abused daily. We will always go the distance for the victim. We will reach out to community. We will ask for it. We are their voice. The communities donations quite literally serve as life savers often as well. Help save a life and make your community the compassionate neighbors who take a stand on DOMESTIC VIOLENCE.

Shot out to the cities and communities of Corona, Yorba Linda, Irvine, and San Bernardino! In recent months, we have experienced an overwhelming demand for help, primarily victims that come to us through the state hotline, 211. Due to a lack of funding, we have a few times had to reach out to the community in order to fundraise so we can provide emergency shelter and food for Domestic Violence Victims. The true character of the citizens in these communities has been that of care and concern, of kindness and charity. We would like to thank the following people/businesses for their contribution in the safety and well-being of some of these families in desperate need. YOU MAKE THE DIFFERENCE!!! THANK YOU! We cannot stress enough the importance of COMMUNITY, and how an act of kindness can contribute to the future and success of others. On behalf of Dreams Corp., and the families fallen victim to Domestic Violence that we serve, a GIANT THANK YOU we give! In recent months, a large majority of the services we provide has shifted to focus more on Emergency Shelter and Food assistance. We have seen an increase in the volume of victims, while the amount and type of resources available to them are not meeting the overwhelming need.

There are good programs, yes, but most all of them have a waiting list. There are many resources, yes, but there are processes and applications that take time. There are shelters, yes, but finding one with open spots, and especially at night, or on a weekend, is not common. There are voucher programs, yes, but they run out and most you must get to in person and in the morning or afternoon. There are food banks, yes, but nothing rarely open at night.

We have been focusing on providing immediate safe shelter and immediate needs such as food for victims who are fleeing Domestic Violence. What we see happening, is the victim makes the scary decision to leave, often with children. They then cannot find somewhere to stay because there are not enough beds in the minimal shelters available, or it is past business hours to speak with anyone or check in. They leave with no money often times. Just the clothes on their backs and a bag or two. They are then faced with a hard decision. Do I go back home to the place of abuse where my abuser is or can find me? Or do I sleep outdoors, homeless, with my children? Either choice is unsafe and miserable. They lose hope and get discouraged and end up staying in the abusive household often times. Sometimes, they never try leaving again, and they and their children succumb to a life of abuse. Sadly, violence and even death can result.

We saw a need to get them through the first day, two, three....however much time it takes to get them into a program, shelter, or housing. We don't like to turn anyone away. They just need the emergency help for those few days, and then they can be on their way to a much brighter, safer, and happier life. We run out of funding fast. Often, our own staff pay out of pocket to ensure that these victims can lay their heads in the safety of a motel room, and not on the streets or back to the abuse in the home they are trying to escape from. This is a crucial part of the process that is overlooked. It can make the difference in the long term outcome of their safety and having a better future.

Sometimes, we come to the core of it all, COMMUNITY, to fundraise for them in order to provide that much needed emergency help. Community makes it all possible. Without it, without each of you who has contributed in some way, big or small, we could not prevail in our mission. Never underestimate the significance of your donation. We don't just think, we know, that many times it has likely saved a life!

Our make-over volunteer hair stylist of many years, just had her Joewell hair cutting scissors and products stolen out of her car while doing some volunteer work for FREE in Rosarito, Mexico. She went into a restaurant, and came out to find her window bashed and all of her products and tools for the work she does gone, along with other things. Does anyone have any professional hair cutting scissors that they would be willing to donate? Your donation would help her to be able to continue to help us help many Domestic Violence Victims who benefit from our free makeover sessions in which she regularly donates her time to cut, dye, and style their hair free of cost.

We need as many Domestic Violence Victims, of any age or gender, to participate in our survey, and possibly, (with your consent) could lead to being published in a book and documentary in the future. Every voice matters. You may stay annonymous if you opt to as well. If you are not from the United States, please indicate that, but we want victims from around the world to participate. We need your stories and your voices to create change. This study will be possibly the largest to date, but we cant do it without you!

To participate, all you need to do is put an email address in the comments. Once we email you the survey, your comment will get a like button so you know we sent it. It will take between 15 and 20 minutes, depending on how long any written answers are. It consists of multiple choice, checklists, and written answers.

If we feel that you would be a good fit for further discussion for uses listed above, we will let you know. You can also let us know that you have interest in more. Whether you do or dont, we need all victims to PLEASE PLEASE TAKE THIS SURVEY. Only together do we have the power to make change in our legal system and in our schools, as well as with more and new much needed resources. Your voice saves lives and gives hope to the generations to come. Thank you!

Show lost my only copy of my book that took me 5 yrs to write; with actual diary entries and illustrations in it. For the past SEVEN YEARS, I have been lied to and given every excuse about it until a few weeks ago, when I was told ," It is gone" by the Senior Producer Justin Arluck. My dreams lived in that book. They asked me what type of arrangement I would like as compensation, and now are completely ghosting me! I want answers and restitution!
