What a week at Worlds! I wanna congratulate Althea Ethan and Ertegin for representing us. They fought hard and never gave up. We got to enjoy the awesome black belt finals on Sunday. Back to work now! American Nationals next stop 🛑

I want to congratulate all the students who were promoted yesterday at our Summer Seminar and Promotions. ( David, Raul, Chanel, Chaz, Noah, Zee, Bryan, Oscar, Joe, John, Jeremiah, Hieu and Jackie) Jiu Jitsu is a different journey for everyone, as long as you stay consistent and committed, you will achieve your goals, whether it’s 3 years or 20 years. Congratulations again!

Prof Cindy and I were also promoted to Third Degree by Prof Koji .murakami.338, the man who gave me my black belt in 2013. Thank you for your knowledge and wisdom. Thank you friends and family who came out to support this event!

Late post - The kids and adults competed this past weekend at the JJWL in LA! We all fought valiantly and many took home some well deserved hardware. Congratulations to all! Thank you teammates, friends and family for the support!

2024 Pans are in the books! Definitely not the results we wished for, but we competed as hard as we could. There are still some adjustments to be made. I want to thank all my students, teammates, family and friends for their support. Thank you Professor Renan and Denny for the coaching. Thank you Coach .j.romero for this amazing camp. I think we did the best as we could coming back from a serious injury. I’m already motivated for the next one.

After a shoulder in back in November, finally resumed my training 5 weeks ago. I cut down 15 pounds in 4 weeks to get back in shape and went out to do the LA Open. 3 fights for gold. Thank you to all my students and training partners at CheckMat Corona and HQ. Big thanks to my trainer Dean .j.romero who helped me rehab my shoulder and made sure I followed a strict lifting and nutrition regimen. Thank you my wife with awesome coaching. Thank you and for the gear. Next stop, Pans.

I was injured during camp and wasn’t to compete alongside my students. So I enjoyed the weekend by coaching them enjoying some good food with them instead! Bryan got bronze 🥉 and John 🥈 at No Gi Worlds in Las Vegas. Lui did not place but fought valiantly. So proud of these guys putting in the work and repping the Team!

Gold today at Sacramento Open! I wasn’t happy with my performance last month at the OC Open. I doubled down on my training and cut down to Middleweight. I lost about 8 pounds in a week but felt great! Thanks to my coach today and beautiful wife . Big thank you to my trainer .j.romero I feel stronger than ever. Thank you to all my students watching and supporting from home! Love you guys!
