The Coastal Bend Community came together to honor the life and service of Unaccompanied U.S. Army Veteran Sieglinde J. Shindler. When a Veteran has no next-of-kin present, we are their family and we'll never allow a Texas Veteran to be buried alone. Thank you for your love and support!

Crews are working hard and making progress on the major expansion project at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery. When the project is complete, we will have an additional 3,160 pre-placed crypts and a new columbarium with 1,200 niches. We're honored to serve our Veterans and families when they need us most!

As good members of the Corpus Christi Community and respecting the current water restrictions the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery has implemented a reduced watering schedule to ensure compliance with current requirements and to protect our natural resources. Today, we had the honor of dedicating four War Monuments at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery for Veterans who served in WWII, Korea, Vietnam and the Persian Gulf. A Veteran from each conflict spoke at their respective monument after it was unveiled. These monuments will serve as reminders of the heroes who have come before us and the ones we have lost. Our gratitude is endless for their many sacrifices.

Join us for a Memorial Day Ceremony on Monday, May 27, at 11 a.m., featuring Welcome Remarks from Wesley Thomas, Commander, DAV Chapter 150, Veterans Band of Corpus Christi, and special Keynote Speaker Judge Joe Benavides.

Please join us at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery in Corpus Christi for the dedication of four new war monuments honoring all who served in WWII, Korea, Vietnam, and the Persian Gulf on Friday, May 3, 2024, at 11:00 a.m.

VLB's four Texas State Veterans Cemeteries will offer extended visiting hours during the spring and summer to account for longer days! Our new hours will be 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. from April 1 - September 30 and 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. October 1 - March 31. We hope these longer hours will provide more time to see and spend with your loved ones.

Your State Veterans Cemetery team works hard to ensure our grounds are in pristine condition to honor our Veterans and loved ones laid to rest. If you notice anything out of place or a section that needs attention, please report it to the cemetery staff in the main office or call 361-248-4830. We'll take action to get the situation corrected. Thank you for all your support.

Volunteers showed up over the weekend to help retrieve 6,000 holiday wreaths at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery in Corpus Christi. Every year we lay a wreath for every Veteran at the four Texas State Veterans Cemeteries to ensure that NO Veteran is ever forgotten. We are grateful for all the support from our local communities.

The Texas State Veterans Cemeteries are places of peace and reflection. During the holiday season, we want to ensure family members and friends have extra time to visit their loved ones. This Sunday, December 24th, and Monday, December 25th, all four of our Texas State Veterans Cemeteries will be open 24 hours a day for the public to commune with their loved ones. We wish everyone healing and solace during this Christmas season.

⚠️PARKING FOR WREATH LAYING CEREMONY! Due to the current expansion project, parking will be very limited at the cemetery for the wreath laying on Dec. 16. Three free park-and-ride sites will be available for family and volunteers at Tuloso-Midway Primary School, Corpus Christi Cross Field and Arlington Heights Church of Christ. Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery expands grounds for more space The Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery is expanding its grounds to have more space for future burials for all who served our nation with distinction.

We're excited to announce that the annual Wreath Laying Ceremony will take place on Saturday, December 16, at 11 a.m. The cemetery will host a short ceremony, immediately followed by the laying of wreaths. Volunteers are encouraged to participate. No RSVP is required. Thank you so much for all your support!
