Umatilla County youth uses 4-H skills to win heifer in national contest Mickenzie picked up her heifer in November and has been raising the cow on her family farm.

The Country Canines Dog Club held a community service work session on Friday, July 19th at 8:00am, at the Old Show Barn. Attending were Ireland, Elizabeth, Harper, Haley and special guests Piper, Glen, Joel, Jacob and Anna. We helped Andy Anderson, Fair Board Member, clean out the old show barn by removing old doors, fence posts, random piles of wood, garbage cans, brand board signs, benches, picnic tables, folding chairs, a big table and other garbage. This job had to be done to help prepare the old show barn to have concrete poured for a new floor. The job took about an hour and Andy was very happy to have the help of our club!

It's the week of so many horse fairs for Oregon 4-H'ers! Who's saddling up this weekend?

🐴Come watch our Benton County 4-H Horse members compete at Horse Fair. The competition happens before the Benton County Fair starting this week Thursday, July 18–Sunday, July 21 at the Benton County Fairgrounds beginning at 9:30 am daily!

This is a great place to see 4-H members participate in cow roping, trail, western and English equitation, dressage, horse psychology, gymkhana, marketing, and other classes. There’s no admission charge for this event. These members have worked hard all year and love to have spectators attend!

Congratulations to all the 4-H'ers who represented Oregon at the National 4-H Shooting Sports Championships in Nebraska this summer! Oregon 4-H achieves two top-20 finishes at shooting sports national championships In the team standings, Oregon finished 14th – out of 33 teams – in shotgun and 18th in compound archery.

We are excited to announce we are moving to 896 E. Main Street, John Day. Our new location is a shared space; we are renting the left/East portion of the building. Watch for our signs to go up this week. Our phone number will not change (541) 575-1911 and we can be reached during our office hours 7 a.m.- 4 p.m. M-F. This will be our home until the renovation of Keerins' Hall on the Fairgrounds is complete. We are closed for the move this week and will be OPEN Monday, June 10 at 7 a.m., we look forward to seeing you soon!
