What is the first step to beat my addiction?
This is often a question many have when they're struggling with addiction. You want to know the good news? Just asking yourself this is often completing the first step which is admitting you have an addiction. People often feel that addiction is a myth and they can quit any time they want so admitting this is a huge first step.
The next real step is making the decision to change. Once you make that decision set a goal for yourself. It can be as small as cutting back slowly or as big as reaching out to a treatment center. This is also considered the contemplation stage because it will take you time to think about what you want, which is totally fine. You need to figure out what you want and what works best for your circumstance.
If you've done these two things than you're off to a great start and are further along in your recovery than you imagine. Keep pushing forward with your goals. If you need more information or guidance with your recovery you can also give us a call or click the link in our profile to get in touch with our team of experts who are here for you. You don't have to do it alone.
“The great thing in this world is not so much where you stand, as in what direction you are moving.” This quote from Oliver Wendell Holmes is a reminder that no matter where you are in your life at this very moment, you can always create a better world for yourself as long as you work for it.
Nothing in this life comes easy. This is especially true when it comes to your recovery. It's not easy. It will take work day in and day out but that work is worth it. The good news is that work will become apart of you. You'll stop noticing the "work" and you'll start noticing the progress you've made. One step at a time. One day at a time. You can do it.
If you need some extra help and motivation along the way we're always here. Go ahead and send us a message or give us a call and our team of experts will be happy to help.

Life can be stressful and chaotic at times. How can we return balance to our lives?
One way we can help ease our minds and focus on our recovery is through meditation. Not only does meditation reduce stress and clear your mind but doing so will help balance out the rest of your body. Everything from you brain to heart to stomach.
Brining balance back to your life should be a priority. Adding 15 minutes of meditation to your daily routine is a small change that will have huge a impact. Even just waking up a little earlier to get a meditation in before you start your day will make a huge difference.
Remember, we are always here if you would like more information. Feel free to send us a message or give us a call to talk to our team of experts that can help guide you through your recovery.
Have you tried meditation?
It's no secret that many people who struggle with addiction also suffer from mental health issues but did you know your daily routine can actually help improve those issue?
Studies have shown that a routine designed around improving your brain health can help improve not just some mental health issues but also addiction related issues. Here are 6 things you can do every day that will help improve your brain health.
1. Eat Healthy food
2. Exercise
3. Avoid Alcohol
4. Meditate
5. Read a book
6. Get enough sleep
A routine is key to recovery in general. If you want more informational about how to create a healthy routine and improve your recovery send us a dm or give us a call and one of our amazing team members will be happy to help you.
What are some of your favorite healthy daily routines?
Often times people ask what the key to a successful recovery is and that's not always easy to answer. There are many things that can contribute to a successful recovery. It can be a routine, healthy lifestyle, therapy sessions, and a supportive community. The last one is exactly what Grammy winner Macklemore attributes his recovery to.
Macklemore has always been up front about his journey and has become an advocate for recovery. Back in 2014 he did an interview that talked about how he started his journey and what helped him the most. "In terms of recovery, it has been very important for me to be a part of a recovery community, to actively be around my people because they understand me. They get it."
We have many alumni that say the same thing. The key is to have support. Whatever that may be. If you're looking for that support know that we're only a dm or phone call away and are more than happy to help you in your journey.
If you've been through recovery, what do you think your most important key to success was?
If we are to reject change, we will not grow. If we continue to fear change, we will become stagnant. If we become stagnant, we will never get to see our true full potential.
If you are thinking to yourself, ‘it’s time to make a change’ we are here to help you do that, step by step. It’s not going to be easy because change is never easy. We would be happy to hear from you if you want to give us a call, click the link in bio, or send us a DM.
“Where does the motivation to change my life really come from?” Ultimately it stems from wanting to change our lives for the better. Change is so hard sometimes that we see it as a threat-- it’s costly, time-consuming, and damaging to our reputation.
Let’s focus on the positive aspects of change. Change can really build our strengths because it allows us to get out of that comfort zone and grow. We develop self-worth, self-esteem, and resilience as we become more adaptable. When we meet change with a positive attitude, we learn to let go of our set ways and become flexible. That alone is freeing.
My grandmother used to tell me when I was a child that I need to embrace all the changes that are coming in my life. She said to me that instead of trying to resist change by focusing on what’s different, think of it as a new opportunity.
Did you ever get some good ol’ grandparents wisdom? Please share it with us down below!
What is a typical day in a treatment center like?
We want to keep you active, structured, & on the right path to help in your recovery. Whether that's through working out, therapy sessions, or just watching a movie. We do our best to make your recovery a success.
We want to help you create structures in your life to keep you away from the risk of relapse. Part of that structure is about creating healthy habits and routines. According to a 2012 study published in the British Journal of General Practice, habits are “actions that are triggered automatically in response to contextual cues that have been associated with their performance.” So when you get into your car, what is the first thing you do? You put on your seat belt without even thinking about it. We like habits because habits are efficient. Habits are about automating common actions, and when we have the ability to do that, we free up mental resources for other tasks.
If you’re ready to start creating healthier habits with us, give us a call! You can also click the link in our bio and chat with our awesome team experts. Our door is always open!

We can learn a thing or two from lobsters. How you ask? Well it comes down to how they grow.
A lobster is a soft mushy animal that lives inside of a rigid shell. That rigid shell does not expand. As the lobster grows, that shell becomes very confining. The lobster feels itself under pressure and uncomfortable. It casts off the shell and produces a new one. Well eventually that shell becomes very uncomfortable as it grows and the lobster repeats this numerous times.
The short story is that significant growth can come from adversity. Growth can often require you to cast off things that are incredibly important to you. These things (or people) might have been important at one time — this process is scary and painful but necessary for growth.
Embrace the growth and all the scary uncomfortable things that come along with it. You'll come out a better person on the other side. If you want to grow we're happy to help you along your path. You can click on the link in our bio or give us a call and we'll help you with that new shell.
Did you know that a healthy mind and a healthy body are key to your recovery? Often times people think it's complicated and difficult to keep a healthy lifestyle but it's actually really simple. So simple in fact, that you could count the steps on your hand. According to healthline, researchers have determined that the 4 rules below will give you everything you need for amazing health.
1. Lift Things and Move Around - Exercising helps your body, brain, and hormones function optimally. It also lowers your blood sugar and insulin levels, improves your cholesterol, and boost your growth hormones. Additionally, exercise can help with depression, chronic diseases, heart disease, and many more
2. Sleep Like a Baby - Sleep deprivation correlates with many diseases, including obesity, and heart disease. The better your sleep quality the better your overall health.
3. Avoid Excess Stress - Excess stress can raise cortisol levels and severely impair your metabolism. It can increase junk food cravings, fat in your stomach area and raise your risk of various diseases. To reduce stress try to simplify your life - exercise, take nature walks, practice deep-breathing techniques and maybe even meditation.
4. Nourish Your Body - That doesn't mean eat anything and everything. It means eating real food. Not processed junk. It’s best to eat a combination of animals and plants — meat, fish, eggs, vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, as well as healthy fats, oils and high-fat dairy products.
If you can incorporate each of these into your daily routine your health will flourish to optimal levels which will help with your recovery. Ultimately, that's what your recovery is. A return back to your optimal health.
What are some ways you like to stay healthy?
Did you know that entering a drug treatment center increases your success for recovery?
It's true and the science behind these claims can prove it. First, when we say that entering a treatment center increases your success rate we're not talking about a tiny change. We're talking major significant changes. Check out some stats below.
22.3 million Americans have beat their alcohol or drug problems.
85-95% of of people who complete drug rehab are still sober 9 months later.
80% show an improved quality of life and health after completing treatment.
You can be part of those success stories. You have what it takes to take back control of your life and make it better without drugs and alcohol.
If you're ready to take the next step and be apart of the change you want to see send us a message or give us a call and we'll get you there.
Are you ready to succeed?
If our focus during recovery is to return to a balanced out body and mind what are some ways we can do that?
Did you know that about 40 million people in the U.S suffer from an anxiety disorder? Of those 40 million people 20% have a substance abuse disorder. One way we can help ease our minds and focus on our recovery is through meditation. Not only does meditation reduce stress and clear your mind it has many other benefits when it comes to your recovery.
Meditation can help calm your nervous system when going through withdrawl related systems like anxiety, insomnia, & depression. Meditation will also increase your natural endorphin levels that will have been supressed from substance abuse. Additional benefits include, increased focus and awareness, emotional stability, decreased insomnia, and much more.
Your recovery is your number one priority. Adding 15 minutes of meditation to your daily routine is a small change that will have huge a impact. Don't you think 15 minutes is worth the time?
Remember, we are always here if you would like more information. Feel free to send us a message or give us a call to talk to our team of experts that can help guide you through your recovery.
Do you meditate daily?
Where do I start and what can I do?
These are common questions to have when you know you need help but might not know where to turn. While you can always contact us at any time we still want to provide you with resources & ideas that you can implement on your own. Recovery is a way to create structure and healthy habits. Which is exactly how movie star Zac Efron has been successful in his recovery.
Zac Efron's struggles started in 2013 with alcohol and co***ne. The structure that helped him in his recovery was his healthy lifestyle. He added exercise and meditation to his life. "What I found is structure. That led me to a balance of opposites. You get out of life what you put in."
If you're ready to start creating structure and healthy habits, give us a call! You can always click on the link in our bio and chat with our awesome team of experts. We're always here for you!
What are some activities you've added to your life to provide structure?

This can be done in many different ways like eating healthy meals, exercising, going through individual and group therapy sessions, spending time doing hobbies, and focusing on your recovery.

What are some of your favorite ways to destress?
Did you know that certain foods can aid in your recovery?
Most people don't think about the types of foods they should be eating to help them with their recovery but making just a few changes to your diet can make a world of difference. Why wouldn't we want to do everything we can to make sure we succeed?
Nutrients play a huge role when it comes to brain chemistry. If you eat unhealthy it will carry over into your mood. If you eat a well balanced diet it can improve your mood while helping your mind and body get back to normal. Below are a few foods you can add to your daily routine to improve your life.
Blueberries: They are full of antioxidants. Antioxidants will boost your immune system and in turn will help clear the toxins that have been stored in your body.
Yogurt: Yogurt is great because of the probiotics that will help restore your gut from all the damage that things like alcohol and op**tes have done. PRO TIP: Make sure you get sugar free / plain yogurt. Sugar will actually kill the probiotic bacteria in yogurt. You can add your own fresh fruit right before you eat to give it some flavor.
Fish: Fish is loaded with the amino acid tyrosine. Your body can't process tyrosine well when using drugs and alcohol. This is a big deal because tyrosine is key for the neurotransmitters, dopamine and norepinephrine, which give you mental clarity and well being.
These are just a few foods that can jumpstart your recovery. If you're serious about adding a healthy diet to your recovery process you can always reach out to us for more information. Either through DM, phone, or link in our bio. Our awesome team of experts is here to help.
What are some of your favorite healthy foods?
Have you had your "Come to Jesus" moment? That's what NFL Super Bowl Champion Brett Favre called his. Many times that's what it takes to want to change.
What many people don't know is that he struggled with op**te addiction during his NFL career. After having multiple injuries and surgeries he became addicted to vicodine. "It snuck up on me. It was two pills that gave me a buzz, and then it was four," Favre said. "At its peak, I was taking 16 Vicodin ES all at one time."
His "come to Jesus" moment was after the 1995 season where he suffered a seizure while in the hospital for ankle surgery. He spent 75 days in an inpatient rehab facility and has over 20 years of sobriety.
People from all walks of life go through struggles. The important thing to keep in mind is that you don't need to hit rock bottom to reach out for help.
