Inflation hitting close to home?? We feel the pain with you! Let's play a game. We will call it, "Guess the Price of Healthcare!"

In this picture I have put three items, it is your job to guess which one is the most expensive and add how much you believe it cost us to purchase. I will reveal the answer after I get enough guesses.

From L to R:
TXA: A medication given intravenously to help the body maintain its ability to clot during significant bleeding incidents.

LUCAS Puck: The LUCAS device does chest compressions during CPR. The puck fits on the end of the piston and provides contact with the patient's chest.

Bag Valve Mask: This device we use to give you breaths in the instance you stop doing it on your own. It is connected to an oxygen supply and the user squeezes it once every 6 seconds or so to provide you with ventilations.

Also, I would like to add we aggressively price compare through different vendors for the best price.

North Crawford County Ambulance District
April 24th, 2024
***News Release***

On April 24th, 2024, NCCAD Board Members and the NCCAD Chief Jeremy Stetina attended a special board meeting with the Bourbon Fire Protection District to discuss the temporary housing of an Ambulance and Personnel at the Bourbon Fire Station. After safety concerns for employees were brought to the attention of the NCCAD Board of Directors at our last meeting. NCCAD House 2 was temporarily closed. The safety of the employees and staff was the only consideration taken when the decision was made, and the expediency of the closing was necessary.

Chief Stetina began working on solutions to find temporary housing to allow for the continued local ambulance service for the Bourbon/Leasburg area. Tonight, the Bourbon Fire Protection District has graciously offered the usage of their building to help resume around the clock local staffing for the Bourbon/Leasburg area. There will be some logistics to work out, but we expect to have a crew housed at BFPD at 0800 hours on April 25th, 2024, and continue around the clock local coverage. We will continue to work with BFPD to determine the and discuss futures options if necessary. We can't thank BFPD enough for offering their facility and we ask that the community support us while we mitigate the current issues at NCCAD House 2. We are exploring cost-effective solutions to ensure employee safety and help better serve this great community.

Seeing emergency services working together tonight to help one another out when needed, only shows what a great community we have and serve.

Press Release
On March 25th, 2024 at approximately 1558 hours, North Crawford County Ambulance District with Chief Officer, Cuba Fire Department with Chief Officer, Cuba Police, and Missouri State Highway Patrol were dispatched to a 2-vehicle commercial truck accident scene at the 212-mile marker of I-44 east bound lanes. Early reports indicated up to 5 tractor trailer units involved with one on its side and another jack - knifed and unknown number of patients on scene. Due to the potential number of patients and highway speeds, NCCAD Chief Officer upgraded the status to a Mass Casualty Incident. Crawford County CenCom requested additional ambulance resources from Missouri Baptist EMS, St. James EMS, and Steelville EMS for a scene response. NCCAD unit 3617 staffed with 2 Paramedics and 1 EMT student arrived on scene and started triage of the patients. Upon arrival of the NCCAD Chief Officer, EMS command was established.

Initial rapid triage indicated no drivers reported injuries, and the MCI was downgraded and handled by the crew of 3617. 2 patients were evaluated on scene and refused care, and 3 additional drivers refused evaluation. Cuba Fire Department arrived on scene and started Fire Command Operations in conjunction with removal of the vehicles from the scene. An additional declaration of a medical emergency was reported in traffic but was unsubstantiated.

Hello Friends,
I respectfully come to you at this time regarding an upcoming and important election. On April 2nd, 2024 voters in the North Crawford County Ambulance District will go to the polls regarding a proposed bond issue. I’ve attached pictures of the informational flyer for your consideration. In late 2023 my family and I started exploring our options for where we would like to have our forever home. I saw an opportunity to place my family within a small, rural community, and it appealed to us. What I brought to the citizens of our county is a prior work history with Cole County Emergency Medical Services as a Battalion Chief/Critical Care Medic and a part time position with Mercy Hospitals aboard the aircraft Life Line 2 as a Flight Medic and 25 years of EMS experience.

Your North Crawford County Ambulance District Board of Directors has been busy working extremely hard to bring you quality pre-hospital healthcare, and they have chosen me to lead that charge. During my first two and half months, I have observed close-knit communities, that offer excellent support to their first responders and public safety personnel. I have observed full time and volunteer community members go above and beyond to help neighbors.

It goes without saying that inflation is hurting everyone. The cost of everything seems to have sky rocketed. The Board of Directors, with hesitation, come to the people of the county asking support to allow us to expand and add high quality infrastructure back to the community. In the last 2 months alone, we have added high quality advanced education, training, and in a short period of time we will roll out some of the best clinical guidelines in the state. In the near future your NCCAD pre-hospital providers will start utilizing advanced IV infusion pumps, training, and medications to extend our abilities to match the quality of care only available in the most progressive agencies. It is my goal to continue this trend of rapid and dynamic improvement. These changes come at a steep cost to the District, and for this and many other reasons we now must go to the polls. Please consider this when voting in the April 2nd election.

Yours in Service,
Chief Jeremy Stetina MSSA, FP-C
