Book poverty is real in several African countries and as a result, children do not have sufficient resources to help them learn how to read. Bloom Service Provider, SIL Africa, Learning and Development, offers Bloom training to NGOs and Ministry of Education officials from across the continent. Their recent training in Burundi trained 60 participants to produce grade appropriate books for primary schools. Participants went away able to create simple, leveled and decodable booklets, navigate through the Bloom program with ease, record audio books, download books from the Bloom library and publish books in both PDF and digital format.
