Momentum is building for HB 12, which would expand pregnancy Medicaid coverage to 12 months after giving birth, but there’s still more work to do and little time to do it.
Today, ahead of Mother’s Day, we're/I'm joining Health Equity Texas for Black Women’s Health Day at the state Capitol to urge the State Senate to pass HB 12 without amendment before the end of the 88th biennial Texas legislative session. Ninety percent of pregnancy-related deaths in Texas are preventable, and it’s in our best interest to ensure new moms have access to quality health care.
Contact your state senator and ask them to support HB 12 at wrm.capitol.texas.gov/home.
