Each February, young people nationwide raise awareness about teen dating violence through Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month (TDVAM). This annual month-long push focuses on advocacy and education to stop dating abuse before it starts. Join us by using the hashtag
Empower’Em Teen Seminar IS FREE TO ATTEND
OPEN TO ALL TEENS & PARENTS
* Educating our youth on healthy relationships.
* Learn to recognize the red flags of an unhealthy relationship
* How to help someone experiencing abuse, or how to get help if they are being abused.
* This seminar is free to attend and is for all Teens, male & female. * * Parents are encouraged to attend with their teens.
Teens often think some behaviors, like teasing and name-calling, are a “normal” part of a relationship. However, these behaviors can become abusive and develop into serious forms of violence. Many teens do not report unhealthy behaviors because they are afraid to tell family and friends.
Teen dating violence is common. Data from CDC’s Youth Risk Behavior Survey in 2019 indicate that among U.S. high school students who reported dating during the 12 months before the survey:
* About 1 in 12 experienced physical dating violence.
* About 1 in 12 experienced sexual dating violence.
Learn more at https://www.cdc.gov/.../teendatingviolence/fastfact.html
