Today, we celebrate Juneteenth, which honors the day in 1865 when the last enslaved African Americans in Texas learned of their freedom, two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.
This day serves as a reminder of the resilience and strength of the African American community, while providing an opportunity for all Americans to consider how we can make our society more just and equitable.
With that said, we invite you to join us in celebrating and commemorating this important day. And please note our office will be closed today in observance of Juneteenth.
Should you have any questions or needs during this time, feel free to reach out via email or leave a message, and we'll get back to you as soon as we return.

Did you know that drunk driving accidents historically surge on Super Bowl Sunday?
As we all gear up for the Super Bowl, it's important to prioritize safety to ensure this event remains fun and safe for everyone 🏈
Things to keep in mind:
1️⃣ Do Not Drink and Drive: Use designated drivers or rideshare services like Uber or Lyft when not within walking distance from home. Remember, you can be arrested for driving under the influence even if your blood alcohol content is below .08.
2️⃣ Drink Responsibly: Keep in mind that several factors such as gender, food intake, hydration levels, and medication can influence your intoxication levels. At parties, consider choosing measured or canned beverages for a clearer idea of the amount of alcohol consumed.
3️⃣ Host Responsibly: If hosting a Super Bowl party, offer ample food and non-alcoholic drinks. Consider stopping alcohol service during the third quarter, and remember that as a host, you're potentially liable if a guest drives drunk.
4️⃣ Drive Defensively: Given the potential rise in drunk drivers, apply defensive driving strategies if you’re driving on Super Bowl Sunday. Remain alert, maintain a safe distance from others, and report suspected drunk drivers to the authorities.
While staying safe, make sure you also cheer hard for your favorite team! Tell us in the comments — who are YOU rooting for? 🏈👏

That’s why, on February 2nd, we stand together for National Wear Red Day, an annual observance dedicated to raising awareness about heart disease. Today and every day, let's promote heart health and support the fight against cardiovascular disease.
Consider these staggering stats:
🔴 Every 33 seconds, someone in the U.S. dies from cardiovascular disease.
🔴 Heart disease claims more lives than all forms of cancer combined.
🔴 1 in 3 women are affected by heart disease.
Join us in the fight for heart health! Wear red today, and share this post to spread awareness of heart disease ❤️
Getting into a car accident can be a pretty jarring experience. It’s not the time you want to be figuring out how to proceed.
While we hope you never need this information, we thought we’d share a few important tips in the event of an accident:
☑️ Do not admit fault. Don’t discuss the accident with anyone other than the police and your attorney.
☑️ Call the police. It's important to report the accident and have an official record of the incident.
☑️ Gather information. Get driver's license information, insurance policy information, license plate numbers, and names and contact information of the driver and witnesses.
☑️ Take photos. Capture images of the crash scene, the people and vehicles involved, and the license plates.
☑️ Never refuse medical treatment. You may not realize you're injured due to elevated adrenaline after a crash.
If you're ever in a car accident, know that we’re here to help you through the aftermath. Do you have any other tips for what to do in the event of an accident? Share them with us in the comments ⬇️

December 13th is National Cocoa Day, and there's no better way to embrace the cozy vibes of the season than by sipping on a delicious cup of hot chocolate ☃️
That’s why today we are sharing our favorite hot chocolate recipe and step-by-step instructions. Trust us, you won’t be sorry!
Ingredients:
✨ 2 cups of milk (your choice: whole, skim, almond, etc.)
✨ 2 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder
✨ 2 tablespoons of sugar (adjust to taste)
✨ 1/4 cup of water
✨ A pinch of salt
✨ 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
✨ Whipped cream, marshmallows, or chocolate shavings for topping (optional)
Instructions:
1. In a saucepan, mix cocoa powder, sugar, and a pinch of salt. Add 1/4 cup of water and bring to a gentle boil, stirring constantly until it becomes a smooth, thick syrup.
2. Stir in the milk and heat over medium heat until hot but not boiling. Be sure to keep stirring so it doesn’t stick to the pan!
3. Remove from heat and add vanilla extract. Mix well.
4. Pour into your favorite mug, top with whipped cream, marshmallows, or chocolate shavings, and enjoy the warm, chocolatey goodness!
This season is the perfect time to cozy up with a hot chocolate, whether you're by the fireplace, watching your favorite holiday movie, or just looking to enjoy a warm drink 👩🍳
