HAMPTON & CLARENDON COMMUNITY MEETING – Tomorrow Night!
The 2024 HOC Grant Celebration was held June 27th, and it was a big success. This year, ten neighborhoods that submitted grant applications received a total of $24,042 in funds to be used for neighborhood improvements, beautification or events. Congrats to all!

If you're curious about the current state of Dallas housing – and the future state – you may want to attend this special meeting.
Saturday is Oak Cliff History Day. Celebrate with the ghost of Clyde Barrow.
Oak Cliff History Day, a community event celebrating the rich history of the area, takes place this Saturday, May 4, at the Western Heights Cemetery (1617 Fort Worth Avenue), the final resting place of the infamous gangster Clyde Barrow (of Bonnie and Clyde).
Of course, Clyde is only part of the story. Cemeteries are the ultimate keepers of our history, and this particular one – resurrected by our friends at the Fort Worth Avenue Development Group – has 307 markers (as old as 1862), including 18 veterans, 13 of which are from the Civil War.
Don’t miss out on this fascinating celebration of Oak Cliff History Day. From learning about history to participating in headstone cleaning, there will be something for everyone.
Just sharing upcoming meeting info. If you can't make it to a meeting, use the QR code below and fill out a simple form to have your voice heard.
The next North Texas Giving Day isn't until September, but we've just been alerted to a new opportunity from our NTX Giving Day partners: Now through April 21, Charles Schwab Bank and Communities Foundation of Texas are joining forces to match donations, dollar for dollar – all of which will be used in our neighborhoods via HOC grants and other programs. To donate, go to https://www.northtexasgivingday.org/organization/heritageoakcliff.
Thank you!

Giving Tuesday is
November 28
Dozens of you clicked on the big red heart to donate for NTX
Giving Day, and we'll be forever grateful. But another opportunity to give is upon us, and again we ask for your help.
Giving Tuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Since then, it has grown into a year-round global movement. Today, we're focusing on Oak Cliff. Giving Tuesday is November 28. As with NTX Giving Day, your donations help Heritage Oak Cliff improve, preserve and beautify our community through our very successful grant program.

Had a blast at the Heritage Oak Cliff Home Tour Patron Party. This party honored the multiple homeowners, who graciously stepped up to open up their homes for the home tour, which raises money for the grants that Heritage Oak Cliff gives out each year to deserving neighborhoods. As I mentioned last night, Heritage Oak Cliff was a fantastic partner for me before I was elected to City Council in helping me and a burgeoning neighborhood activate in South Oak Cliff. More recently, the organization worked hand-in-hand with some of our new neighborhoods that formed up as a result of the West Oak Cliff Area Plan and need for stronger engagement.
Which one will be your favorite?
