This is a female skeleton, head pointed towards north, with a pair of shell bangles on the left wrist, discovered at the Rakhigarhi site in Haryana. It dates back to at least 5000 years. Wearing of shell bangles by Hindu females, especially by married women, continue to this day in parts of India. We, Bishnupriya Manipuris. flaunt these. I have seen Adivasi and Odia women in my locality in Assam wear these bangles. These are integral part of ornaments worn by Hindu Bengali married women; they call these shakha and wear them with combination of polas (red coral bangles).

Excavations at Rakhigarhi site led to discovery of a well-planned city with paved roads, wide roads, brick-lined drains to handle sewage from houses, storage systems for collection of rain water, furnace for gold and jewellery making, and more. These date back to nearly 5000 years. And we are told we are a land of snake charmers, that Mughals made us rich, that British civilized us!

Yes, DNA analysis of the human skeletons found here prove they are indigenous. Another blow to the fake A***n invasion/migration theory. But this theory is still taught in our academic books; it should be removed at the earliest.

Sewa International is honored to be part of the AmeriCorps 9/11 National Day of Service program. We are leading community service projects nationwide, including constructing the 9/11 Memorial at Charlotte Rogers Park in Chesterfield, MO, set to be unveiled on September 11, 2024.

We aim to unveil this memorial on the National Day of Service and Remembrance as a tribute to those who sacrificed their lives in a terrorist attack on 9/11. We request your support for the 9/11 Memorial so that together we can honor the people who lost lives during the attack including the firefighters, policemen and other frontline workers and make a lasting difference.

Since 2018, the Sewa International South Jersey chapter has been active in Chesterfield and neighboring towns, making a positive impact through various community service activities. We are proud to strengthen our community and embody the AmeriCorps 9/11 spirit.

The Sanitation, Hygiene & Empowerment of the Girl Child (SHE) team of Sewa International India has made remarkable strides in improving school facilities and empowering young girls!

12 Toilets Constructed: Sewa’s Leadership Development through Community Engagement (LEAD) students from North Jersey, USA, supported the construction of twelve toilets in three schools in Chhattisgarh and Karnataka.

Menstrual Awareness: We organized sessions for adolescent girls, distributing reusable sanitary napkin kits to promote menstrual health and hygiene.

Yoga & Self-Defense Workshops: A 14-day workshop provided students with essential skills for physical and mental well-being.

These initiatives in health, hygiene, education, and empowerment have created a lasting impact on these schools. The Sewa North Jersey LEAD students provided incredible support.

Globally, we consume a staggering 4 TRILLION plastic bags each year, with the average bag being utilized for a mere 10-20 minutes. Taking action to reduce the use of single-use plastic bags is crucial for safeguarding our environment, preserving wildlife, and maintaining human health. Fortunately, making a positive impact is straightforward.

In commemoration of Earth Day 2024, Sewa International invites you to participate in the Paint-A-Bag contest, designed to curb the reliance on single-use plastic shopping bags. To join the contest, simply REGISTER using the Blue QR Code featured in the flyer. We will communicate with registrants using the emails provided.

This exciting opportunity is open to participants aged 6-17, who will be provided with free bags to paint based on the theme specified in the flyer. All essential details can be found in the Blue Registration QR Code.

Once your artistic masterpiece is complete, follow the instructions in the Brown QR Code to UPLOAD a captivating photo of your painted bag. Results of the contest will be unveiled in June, and selected bags will be showcased at the Sewa Day of Service event in September. Winners will be rewarded with exciting prizes.

Today’s Blood drive glimpses

Food distribution continues. Over 100 homeless ppl were served hot breakfast with cereal, donuts, coffee, sandwiches and more on the streets of Dallas by Volunteers.

On December 4th, the SewaDiwali team hosted a successful food distribution event at Ekta Temple in Irving, benefiting 200+ individuals. Each received a 30-pound food box, along with a hygiene kit and a blanket from Shree Raghunath Temple, Plano. The event featured Mayor Rick Stopfer, City Council member Kyle, and over 25+ organization leaders. Mayor Stopfer highlighted the vital impact of these donations in the city, expressing gratitude to the Hindu community and acknowledging the collaborative efforts of various organizations, communities, and volunteers. Dhanyawad to various organizations, residential communities, the Ekta Mandir management team, Irving Care, SRT Plano, and numerous volunteers from diverse organizations who played pivotal roles in making this food drive a fulfilling experience 🙏🙏

This is the inspiring story of Sakshi and Divyanshu, who found hope despite their father's absence. With their mother's earnings in tailoring and tutoring, they were able to continue their education. Recognizing the hardship faced by the family, Sewa International stepped in to sponsor the children’s education. This support relieved them of part of their financial burden and allowed Sakshi to achieve a remarkable 67% score in her SSC exams, surpassing all expectations. Support a child! As always our middle and high school kids are back on their mission to support underprivileged kids in distinct communities

Sewa International and HSS had a recent engagement with African American/ Hispanic community in Dallas. We helped them by providing doctors for the Health screening, distributed 100 Backpacks to the needy students and conducted a workshop on Mental health for their youth and parents. Overall it was attended by 700+ visitors. We also celebrated Raksha bandhan tying rakhis to the leadership team and the attendees, explaining the importance of this festival. Our help was very well appreciated and there are some discussion on regular engagement with the community introducing Yoga and other activities for stress management more for their youth . Thanks to all volunteers, doctors and kishores for their help 🙏🙏
