My first school class picture as a business owner, entrepreneur, founder and director of La Escuelita SIP! The road has been long and hard and I’ve shed so many tears and had many sleepless nights but the journey will soon come to an end and believing that God will work all things out! In a couple of weeks I will go in front of City Hall to advocate for my childcare to obtain our zoning permits. As a child advocate and leader in Dallas, I’ve dedicated my career to ensuring our community’s youngest members have access to quality childcare. However, I’ve now been waiting for 11 months for the rezoning approval to open a new childcare facility, and the delay is baffling.

Dallas is a childcare desert, with many families struggling to find accessible options. Despite the City of Dallas passing an ordinance to simplify the process for opening childcare businesses, my case has been inexplicably held up for nearly a year.

This prolonged wait is frustrating not only for me but for the countless families who will benefit from our services. It’s disheartening to see that even with supportive policies in place, the ex*****on falls short. We need the city’s support to bring these essential services to our neighborhoods.

I urge the and its officials to prioritize the rezoning cases for childcare facilities. Our children deserve better. Let’s work together to turn policies into action and transform Dallas from a childcare desert into a haven for our future generations.

We are thrilled to announce that after 10-long months of preparation, we have a significant meeting scheduled with the City Planning Commissioners at City Hall tomorrow. This meeting is a pivotal moment for us as we propose our project and seek a Special Use Permit to grow our school at our new location in Oak Cliff.

We’re incredibly excited about the opportunity to be welcomed into the neighborhood and to bring new school choices to the families of Dallas. Our team is super proud of the hard work and dedication that has brought us to this point, and we are eager to share the service we believe will significantly benefit our community.
