GOBR is disbanding. Thank you all for your years of support! Please be sure to redirect your Amazon Smiles and Kroger to another charity.
GOBR has lost one of our founding fathers. I can only imagine the greeting he received at The Rainbow Bridge. Wayne Osborn passed away yesterday.
Rachel could use our help to cover funeral arrangements/memorial for Wayne. They dug deep into their pockets for many years doing boxer dog rescue and it is simply something we all can appreciate as boxer or dog lovers. Rachel is, herself, in poor health and I know the stress both emotional and financial will not be good for her. Any amount you can donate to this fund I know will be felt from the bottom of her heart.

Hi! My name is Sadie Mae and I am one very happy mama. The last few weeks I’ve been working hard to raise 9 babies and I’m ready to retire. I hope to spend my days snuggling my family and getting all the head rubs I can. I’m a typical boxer, meaning I think I’m a lap dog and follow you everywhere. I’m still a young girl, the vet guesses between 2-3 but I’m very calm for my age. I’m also potty trained and left to run the house when my foster parents are at work because they say I’m so well mannered. I will need a little bit of training because I love to jump when I greet new people. My foster mama asks me to do things like “sit, shake, or lay down” but I don’t know what those words mean yet, I’m pretty smart though and LOVE treats so I’m sure we can figure it out together.
I love food and treats so much that sometimes I’m a “thief” and take food from the counter when no one is watching. My foster mom feeds me away from my siblings too because I don’t like when they come near my food. The vet said that might go away over time though as it could be a side effect of my medication.
I do well living with other dogs as long as they’re submissive. When I started treatments the vet put me on some medication that make me really hungry and a little grouchy to my foster sister (she can be pretty bossy). Since then my foster mom has to keep us separate, which is hopefully just temporary until I’m off these meds! I do great playing with their puppy and love to act like a big puppy myself.
My foster mom hasn’t seen me around kids much, but suspects Id do well with them too! I really just love everybody I meet.
I’m currently on my way to recovery for heartworm. I have one more round of treatment and I’m cured! I don’t mind going to the vet though and I love soaking up all the extra attention I get for being such a pretty girl. I promise to make someone a very good addition to the family.
Be sure to ask for me by name Sadie Mae at www.goboxerrescue.com.

Hi Everyone, my name is Abby Jean, and my ID number is 4288. With my Foster Mom’s help I’ll tell you as much of my story as possible. Wish we could communicate everything to tell you more.
I came in to GO Boxer Rescue a little over a month ago after a shelter called and said they had a 1 yo white girl that should come to rescue. Well, my Foster Mom and Dad, and one of my Foster brothers came to the shelter to meet me, and even though they knew I was much older than 1 yo, and that I had a couple tumors on me, and I’m missing my right front leg, they couldn’t leave me there cause I was so sweet. But I was nervous at the shelter because of all the noise from dog’s barking constantly.
I went home with all three of them and met my other foster brother. They are both white as well, so strange to be around all whites.
I was coughing and they figured I’d picked up kennel cough while at the shelter, even though they had given me a bordatella treatment when I first got there. The first vet I saw agreed with that, but also found I have some heart issues. So they said they can’t take the tumor off my face, between my eyes, nor the couple of mammary tumors. I was also way under weight and weak. I had trouble staying up on my three legs, and would fall over when I had to walk very much at all. The medicine for the kennel cough, upper respiratory infection, wasn’t stopping the coughing. So I went back to the vet clinic and saw a different vet. He, and my Foster Mom and Dad decided the cough was not kennel cough, but was from my heart issues. They switched me to heart meds, which are rather costly for the rescue to supply, but boy did they help me so much. I’ll be on those for the rest of my life, but they sure make me feel better. No more coughin! I’ve now gained weight, still could use a few more pounds but look so much better, and they don’t want me to gain too much because of my heart.
As you’ll see in my pictures, when I first got here I mostly laid around on a dog bed, but now I get up and run back and forth and have so much more energy. I am so happy that GO Boxer Rescue got me out of that shelter and are giving me meds, which I don’t mind taking because they are given to me in peanut butter (YUM). They give me all sorts of other treats besides my regular dog food too. I even had a couple of pieces of cantaloupe last night. Boy was that good.
As I said above the shelter told GOBR that I was 1 yo, maybe they just judged on my petite, and underweight size. My Foster Mom guesses I am around 7, and the Vet says between 7 and 10 years.
When my Foster Parents picked me up from the shelter I was so dirty, and weak. My Foster Mom says I had obviously been kept in a small area after my amputation surgery because I hadn’t really learned to walk with the three legs as I said above, and had no muscle tone. Now I do have some muscles and enjoy playing some with the boys and running, with big smiles on my face.
I know that most people aren’t interested in adopting a senior girl with the issues I have, but I am so sweet and get along so well with everyone, foster brothers, company that comes to visit and so on. So, my Foster Parents have assured me that if I don’t get adopted I will be staying with them for as long as I live, hopefully a long time still. It would help if some donations came in to help pay for the medicines they are giving me though. Thanks for any help you can give me!

Adoption pending
Hello,
The first step in adopting me is to fill out an application to adopt at www.goboxerrescue.com.
My name is Millie 4271, and I am a 3 year old brindle female. I am up to date on my vaccines and HW neg. Unfortunately, I was in a puppy mill situation and in heat so as you can guess, I need to be spayed yet.
My spay surgery is scheduled for mid-January, so once I am healed I will be ready for my furever home! I actually am a little chubby, but at my vet appointment today I have lost 5 pounds already (weighed in at 70 lbs).
Being in a puppy mill situation, there are lots of new things and sounds I am getting use to. My first few days the TV, the potted plant, and my own reflection in the door were scary. Let me tell you about those stairs—they were very scary!! Luckily to go outside there are only two and I soon followed my new fur friends outside. But those stairs going up to the next level in the house! My foster mom had to walk me up and down leg by leg until I was brave enough to go by myself. After a week I did it all by myself!! My other big accomplishment by week three was trying a biscuit that they kept trying to give me. My foster mom finally just placed one in my mouth and it was actually tasty. Now I will happily take a biscuit! Just the other day, my foster mom saw me playing with a toy! I am still scared of different things and some people, but every day gets a little better! When my foster family comes home, I am happy to see them and do the ol’ boxer wiggle now.
My foster mom tells me I am a very good girl for so many things! I have not had one accident in my crate or in the house. I don’t have to stay in my crate anymore while they are gone because I have been good. My ears were really, really dirty and I have been good for all my ear cleanings. No problems with wiping my feet, no food aggression, no people aggression, don’t care about the cats or the other dogs, and good about taking pills. They have been taking me for walks and I am still a little nervous, but I walk nice on the leash. My first walk they had to push me out the door, but now I walk out eagerly.
My one requirement for my furever home is a dog bed or two. I really like the dog beds in my foster home, and they make me feel safe! A quieter home would probably suit me better since I am still nervous about this new life I have—so many things I haven’t seen!! So many new people to trust! I also have to learn when people pet me, I am supposed to enjoy it ( which I am starting to realize).
If you are looking for a quiet, gentle companion that you are willing to show all the fun things in this world, then please consider giving me a furever home!

Lets start Monday out with Buddy's happy adoption story!
I'm Buddy and came from a shelter that was "rescue" only. Not quite sure why but they did have a lot of "things" they needed to fix on me. I had an ear infection, kennel cough and am about 10 lbs underweight. They also thought I had hip dysplasia which is unusual for a guy my age of 2 years. They actually found out I has a sprain ACL, now they know why I was so sensitive to that area when they touched me. I'm in a better place now.....my foster parents are awesome. I get fed, go outside and get lots of love something I have missed for a long time. One thing I didn't like was getting a bath. I thought that this is a big drinking fountain but I soon realize that it was a bath and as you know we don't like water touching our skin. But it turned out that it wasn't all that bad. I smell really good afterwards and they dried me off quickly. Oh I also found the toy basket. They have this rope toy that I love it when they pull on it. I think it was left over from their other boxer dogs because I smelled their scent on it.
Guess what.....I think because of my good looks and charm and this family is going to become a "failed" foster and I'm pretty happy about it! Hope you can find another charming, good looking pup at GOBR! Good luck.

Boxers never miss out on snacks.
Mocha will be available soon. We adopt first come, first served, so apply now if you think she may be the one for you!
I think someone is happy to be out of the shelter. What do you think ? Mocha was sitting in the shelter for a couple months not happy with all the noise.
From what we knew she was not an indoor dog and the shelter stressed her and she wanted out!
She had a great intro, meeting her new roommate Pretzel and now won't leave her alone, giving her lots of kisses. She's very sweet and wants to please.
She's starting to get used to living in a home and found a ball that she started playing with it. Mocha has lots of puppy energy even though she seems to be pretty skiddish and cowers at times, we're sure once her confidence is built up that will go away. They say she's 3 or 4 years old.
She was just spayed and will soon be up for adoption. If interested in adopting her please fill out an application at www.goboxerrescue.com

Hi everyone, my name is Samantha and I am a white 4 year old boxer. I am also deaf but don’t let that be the reason you don’t adopt me. You see even though I am deaf, I am very smart. I know hand signals for sit, come, go, and up. I am potty trained and I am working on ringing a bell my foster Mom has hanging on the door! I can’t hear the bell but my foster mom can. I haven’t quite got the hang of that but I think I will eventually. Remember, I’m super smart. Some of my favorite things to do are cuddle with my family, watch out the window, go on walks, eat and sleep. I absolutely love my kong toy. Especially if you put peanut butter in it. I will go running into my crate to receive that kong. Speaking of crates, besides receiving my kong in it and walking in and out of it during the day I do not like being locked in it. The good news is that my foster Mom found out that I’m sort of a Houdini and can escape it. She gave me a chance to stay home while she is at work all day and guess what?? I did great. I sit and watch out the window or sleep all day. I’m a good girl as well as really smart.
When you eat dinner, I won’t bother you much. I usually go lay down. If you want to give me some left overs I will gladly take some.. I am also very gentle when I take food from people.
I love going on walks and I usually walk on a fairly loose leash. It’s loose until I see a dog I must say hello too. Then I will probably pull you so I need to be reminded of my manners.
Speaking of other dogs, I grew up with two big dogs. Not sure why but sometime last year I started to not get along with them. My former mom didn’t know what to do so she decided I needed another home without other big dogs. I think I do ok with little dogs and cats didn’t seem to bother me when I met one for the first time a few weeks ago. I think that if you took the time to take me to training I could work through my issues of not liking big dogs. Remember, I’m super smart!! My foster mom says that I am the sweetest fur baby. She spends a lot of time with me as do my 3 human foster brothers. They love me and I love them! I’m a big girl but I climb on top of them to sit on their laps. They laugh and think it’s funny. I just lick their faces when they laugh.
I hope that you will give me a chance to show you what a wonderful dog I am. I promise I won’t disappoint you!! Go to www.goboxerrescue.com and fill out an application to adopt and ask for me!
Love, Samanatha (Sam)

Hello! My name is Jolie Grace, I'm about 11 months old and weigh 41 lbs. I was rescued from someone who didn't take very good care of me. But I'm safe and warm now! I like my foster home, but I'm really anxious to find my furever home so that I can quit moving around and have my very own toys!
I like playing with the 2 boxer boys here, but I haven't figured out how to play politely so it's best if I'm in a home where I am the only dog.
I really, really like playing with the eight year old two-legged boy here. We play fetch and tug-o-war and I like to chase him. He understands me and how I like to play. The last home that I was in had smaller children and they didn't understand when I needed to chill. So I should probably be in a house that has older kids...kids that are old enough to understand me and be in charge of me. So they can tell me to stop when they've had enough play.
People keep talking about cats. I'm not sure what they are, I think it might have been that furry thing at the vet's office that I wanted to play with, but I haven't been properly introduced, so I don't know.
My foster mom tells me that I could use some professional obedience training...she thinks it would help me bond with my new mom or dad and help me with transitioning to a safe place. I said...OK!
I sleep in the crate at night and I'm in the crate while my foster mom is at work. (Although I used to do really good at night, sleeping outside the crate without disturbing anything. My foster mom says that she needs to be able to trust me first...so, we'll see :)
I go potty outside. Speaking of trust, I used to be tied up outside, so I need someone to go outside with me...at least at first.
If you'd like to adopt me, please go to www.goboxerrescue.com and fill out an application. Mention my name, Jolie Grace.
