Hello everyone! What strange times these have been...We hope you are all safe and doing well!
Update on some of the projects we are working on to continue our literacy mission in our community:
COVID has drastically reduced the number of children's book requests from schools while INCREASING the number of visits to the food pantry. With this in mind, Project READ has been partnering with several food pantries in the Dayton and Miami Valley area. With your help, we were able to donate over 1,000 books in just a couple months to several food pantries (with special thanks to Xenia Area Fish Food Pantry)! This way, families coming to pantries for food can also leave with books for their child. Thank you everyone for your help!
We hope to continue working to provide children's books to food pantries in the Miami Valley throughout the rest of the year! If you're interested in donating books of any kind and any condition to Project READ, you can find our bin locations at www.project-read.org or stop by our donation center at 661 Lyons Rd in Centerville!
