Jennifer Forest sent her mother's fur coat asking for as many bears to be made from the fur as we could make. She was going to give them to the grandchildren for Christmas We ended up with 8 lovely bears by mixing the furs.

Maria Cargile sent us several shirts that belonged to a very special person in her life and she wanted ten bears made from the shirts for friends and family members in memory of her for Christmas this year. The woman was a big Memphis tigers fan so the shirts reflected that and we tried to capture the shirt graphics in the bears.

UPDATE: SUCCESS! The package was delivered today. Thanks for all who sent a note to UPS.
HELP! I finished these animals from my customer's late mother's coat. They were intended for Christmas gifts for her grandchildren. I sent the package via UPS on November 27. I'm being told by UPS phone operators that my package was tagged by UPS as fraudulent. I don't know why my package was tagged or what I can do about it. After over 10 hours on the phone, I finally was able to get an email address ([email protected]). I wrote an email and did receive an automated reply that assigned a case number. But no one has contacted me. So, I'm thinking that, maybe, if I can get a bunch of people to plea my case, someone at UPS will look into this and maybe find my package and either return it or send it to my customer--who is devastated that the package has not made it to her. I'm asking you to help by sending the following email to: [email protected]
Case C-0184965445 HELP
Please help Liane Wagner at Fairy Godmother Creations get the package she sent via UPS on November 27 at 16.01 from Dayton, Ohio to her customer Kimberly Pennino in Cape Coral, FL. Tracking # 1Z950A9Y0392290749
We have been told that her package was tagged as fraudulent and no one will tell her why. That package contains four handmade stuffed animals that were made from Kim Pennino’s late mother’s coat and were extremely sentimental Christmas gifts for Kim’s grandchildren. Those items are NOT replaceable and it is distressing that they are currently missing.
I’m asking UPS to please do all that you can to get that package back to Fairy Godmother Creations (2043 Edgeworth Ave. Dayton, OH 45414) or send it on to Kimberly Pennino ASAP.
Sincerely
(please include your name)

Nick me a family fur coat. He wanted six teddy bears made for family members. The coat was just big enough to get these six 14" bears from.

In addition to a christening outfit and teddy bear, Violet also wanted a crib blanket made from her wedding dress. There was not a lot of lace left and I had to incorporate some of the lining material, but there was enough satin and pretty lace to make a lovely heirloom.
In addition to having me make a christening outfit from her wedding dress, Violet wanted a teddy bear made. I tried to incorporate some of the lace on the belly, muzzle, ears and arms of the bear.

Violet sent her wedding dress to have a number of gifts made from it. She wanted a unisex baptism gown with a detached collar for her grandchildren to wear along with a wedding garter for future family brides to wear.
I tried to keep the lace from her wedding dress toward the lower half of the gown while covering the collar with lace.

Some wedding dresses take a lot of time to deconstruct. :) Lowell took this picture of me taking the ruffles off this wedding dress to use on the christening gown I made from it. :)
Lisa Ference sent her wedding dress from 1994 to have a baptismal gown made for her first granddaughter and a romper made for future grandsons to wear.
I tried to take advantage of the lace and bead work for the gown and some of the accessories while focusing more on the satin for the romper and booties. In addition, Lisa wanted a ring pillow and a garter made.

Sandy sent her late mother's bed jacket to have kittens made for her and her sister. The jacket was a really pretty floral. However, the fabric was pretty fragile. I re-enforced it with a fabric interfacing so am hoping these last a long time.

Thanks to so many people who connected my post with a post from the woman who found Luna. My son and DIL are on their way to get her as I write this THANK YOU!
My Son's dog (Luna) was visiting and she got out and ran away. She was last seen crossing N. Dixie at Neva headed East.
She is a husky. Her eyes are both a different color and she is wearing a hot pink harness.
My DIL is beside herself with worry. If you should see Luna and could call 937-231-5025 to let me know, I would appreciate it.
Julie gave me her wedding dress to have a quilt, a bouquet wrap and some Christmas ornaments made from it. Her wedding dress did not have any lace to work with but I was able to work some variety into the materials and take advantage of the buttons.

Rachel Tetreault had me make her daughter's christening gown several years back. She recently sent the remnants from that outfit to have a romper made for her son. In addition to the romper, I made a cap.

Stacey Messinger sent this note with a cotton/poly dress:
"My daughter and niece have been passing this dress back and forth on each others' birthday. This year, we want to surprise her with a bear instead of a dress."
I think the dress turned into a nice bear and I tried to cut it so that there was enough left to make a second bear some day if they want.

Kristen Poppe sent her wedding dress to have a gown and romper combination made for her coming grandchildren. Her first grandchild is due in October.
Kristen's wedding dress had volume so there was plenty of fabric to work with. We decided to make the gown in my "angel" style and take advantage of the lace from the wedding dress bodice. There wasn't any lace trim on the skirt so we kept relatively clean lines. For the romper, she did not want lace so we went with a pleated bodice and used some of the covered buttons.

Tonya Coston sent this note along with a fur coat: "The coat belonged to my mom who passed eight years ago. The bears will go to me, my sister, my mom's granddaughter and her great granddaughter."

When Linda sent me a box of her father's neckties to have a couple of turtles and some ornaments made, she included a note from her mother that had a reddish neck tie included. Her mother wanted me to make a pillow from her late husband's neckties and wanted the specific necktie to be used as a central element. That lead me to this particular design for the pillow.

In addition to a couple of Turtles, Linda sent me a bunch of her late father's neckties to make some Christmas ornaments from. Some of the neckties had Christmas themes to them so I tried to use them along with other Christmas colors.

Linda Thurman wanted some special items made in memory of her father. She sent me a big box of neckties and asked for several items including two Turtles.
Turtles are one of the more unusual requests that I get. For these ones, I used a patchwork of the ties to create the fabric. Making turtles from a patchwork of neckties is a lovely challenge.

Jill Burkholder sent her wedding dress to have me make a couple of special gifts for her children's upcoming wedding. She specifically wanted a garter, a kerchief and a pocket square. She asked that the kerchief and pocket square have the names, wedding date and a butterfly on them in Rose Gold and Eucalyptus Green.

Marilou sent her wedding dress to have these four angel ornaments made for loved ones. These are a primitive design that works well for capturing some of the lace and ornamental elements of a wedding dress.

Marilou Kishur sent her wedding dress from 1969 to have it made into four Christmas Tree Topper Angels. I was able to capture some of the bit of lace from her dress in each angle.
I like making Tree Topper Angels from an heirloom garment. To me, it is a meaningful way to bring special memories to every holiday.

Marilyn Raymont gave me a wedding dress to have a ring pillow made for her daughters upcoming wedding. The dress was a simple slip dress with a jacket. It did not have any lace or ornamentation other than a pretty button. I used the button for the center of the pillow. Marilyn asked for an embroidered heart to be put on the back of the pillow.

Melinda Beynon sent this note with her package: "Hi, Hope you are doing well. There is a (christening) dress, slip, and bonnet. I would really like to have 2 bears--just two small ones--made."
There was enough fabric in the little outfit to get these two smaller bears.

Valerie Stoetzel sent this note with her fur: "Originally this jacket was my Mother's. It was cut down badly by a furrier to fit me. The fit was still too large, too boxy, and I rarely wor it. I would like two teddy bears to be made from it to give to my great nieces, my Mother's only granddaughters. They are identical twins. I would like scarves for the bears to be made from the lining of the jacket."
There was enough fur to make these two little lovelies.
