Beachside Media is still looking for pumpkins 🎃
All donations are greatly appreciated.

They can use the pumpkin buckets as well. Preferably one side blank. The goal is to get 20 pumpkins. That would give all 5 of our 4th grade classes 4 pumpkins to disguise as a storybook character.

Also attached is examples of what they will be doing!

Thank you to the Kiawanis Club for kick starting our “Beachside Penny Wars” with a bang and a $2,500 donation! We are so excited to be able to support our students, the teachers and their classrooms as they support our students!

Keep your eye out for more information and start saving your coins for our upcoming Penny wars (September 16th-September 20th). This year we will have the traditional coin donations by students in the cafe during breakfast but thanks to Giveback we are launching the Penny wars virtually so anyone can donate! Know the road rules when it comes to our school buses 🚌

🛑 Know When to Stop for School Buses 🛑

As students head back to school, it’s crucial to understand when to stop for school buses to keep everyone safe. Here’s a quick guide:

🚍 Two-Lane Roads: Vehicles in both directions MUST stop when the bus has its stop sign extended.

🚍 Multi-Lane Roads with No Median: All traffic, in both directions, MUST stop.

🚍 Divided Highway: If there’s a raised median, barrier, or unpaved space of at least 5 feet, only the traffic following the bus MUST stop. Vehicles traveling in the opposite direction should proceed with caution.

Drive safe and let’s protect our kids! 📚🚸

If you haven’t made a parent portal on FOCUS take the time to.
Volusia county schools is changing their form of communication to families.
Creating a parent portal will keep you up to date and connected. This is also where you can find your child’s grades and test scores throughout the year! 

As we prepare for the start of the 24/25 school year, we would like to inform you that the main communication platform Volusia County Schools uses for all school- and district-based communication has changed as of July 1.

The district communication platform, originally known as SchoolMessenger, will now be run through Focus Communications, which is built within our current Student Information System (SIS). The transition to this new platform to deliver mass communications will provide Volusia County Schools many additional features to enhance our ability to communicate with you.

Please be aware that all parent accounts are defaulted to an ‘opt in’ status meaning the custodial contacts of students will receive emails, calls, and texts from Volusia County Schools until the parent chooses to ‘opt out’ by responding to the prompts of the call/text/email or by notifying the school registrar of your desire to ‘opt out’. Staying 'opted in' to messages will ensure you receive important information from your child's school and the district.

Since this tool is used for important communications to you, it is critical that we have accurate contact information for you and your students. As a result, an online Student Contact Update form will be delivered to your Focus parent portal. You will be notified once this is available. This will give you the opportunity to review and update all contact information. If you do not yet have a Focus Parent Portal account, it is imperative that you set one up as soon as possible using the instructions located at https://www.vcsedu.org/portals. If you have questions, you may contact the ITS Help Desk at (386) 734-7190 x25000.
