Our mission at POTW is to provide knowledge-based, holistic support to women and their families during preconception, pregnancy, labor and postpartum to have the birth experience and outcome they desire whether they have a home, hospital or birth center birth. This sense of informed choice allows parents to accept responsibility for their birth choices and for the birth of their baby; also helping to retain a healthy lifestyle to enhance the development of their parenting years.

Soooo my business has received it's first magazine publication. I hope you enjoy it as scary as it was for me to write it with courage and transparency 💜 I've been published in magazines for modeling yet not for my business. Some parts of my story I'm recently learning and others connecting the dots to bring me full circle to today.
I hope you enjoy reading as much as I did writing and begin transparent💜

We povided virtual coaching for a mom free birthing with her brother and friend (who is gonna become a Birth Doula😉)
Mom actively labored about 6hrs till birth at around 4pm
I arrived soon after to provide immediate postpartum support up to 6hrs ensuring mom and baby are well and breastfeeding began great too
This mom experienced adversities of her providers saying baby wasn't growing even tho passed all tests at visits; they tried to diagnose her pre-diabetic however mom passed those tests too
I helped her to advocate for herself and express her concerns for birthing naturally and she chose to do it her way
She had doubts during the labor but pushed thru and birthed her baby, her way
Now her postpartum healing begins...
With the right support and education you can birth your way, without fear and rightfully allow the autonomy of your body to unfold
You can take charge of your births' destiny
Know that once you become pregnant, there is a birth Hierarchy; you are the head and you choose your support team for the type of birth you desire

The National Black Midwives Alliance [IG | FB ] is campaigning to establish March 14 as Black Midwives Day annually and is commemorating the 1st year with a celebration. The goals of Black Midwives Day are to strengthen the base of Black midwives and their supporters, preserve the cultural history of Black midwifery, provide advocacy tools that eliminate barriers to education and resources for Black midwives, to build power by developing a national unified voice that advocates for Black midwifery, to address perinatal health disparities that impact Black communities, and to elevate the consumer demand for access to midwifery and community birth.
